“Very pleasant stay”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

Just stayed here for two nights with my husband and adult son in two rooms. Both rooms were clean and of a good size and tea, coffee and biscuits were provided which always goes down well with me! We enjoyed a lovely good quality full English breakfast both mornings and also had dinner one of the evenings which, while slow to arrive, was well worth the wait as the food was delicious. The hotel also stocks two real ales which went down well with my husband and son as both are real ale enthusiasts. The hotel is a little out of the way so a car is a necessity but it is in lovely surroundings as long as you don't mind the hum of the motorway in the distance. I would rate this hotel a good 3 star rather than a 4 but overall we were very pleased and would definitely stay again when next we are in the area.

Arrived here after a wet and cold motorcycle ride, had major problems earlier in the day but not an Issue for the staff in particular Jason who went beyond the call of duty with customer care. Arrived late met with a warm friendly greeting, warm room which was spotless. Had dinner in restaurant again service was impeccable from Sam the bar man, the food was without fault scallops to start with and Lamb shanks as a main course. Great choice at breakfast, service from Ellie was super friendly and helpful.
Cannot rate this place highly enough, some places you go as a biker could learn from this fantastic little bolt hole.

Room Tip: Go for the executive upgrade

A superb hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Food in the restaurant was very good and value for money. Would have awarded this hotel 5stars except breakfast service was a bit slow, could have been a day when staff were off ill because this was not consistent with everything else which was well organised.

We stayed here to make a two day visit to Worcester University. It's not on the doorstep and not easy to access other than by car, a good 15 minutes of driving from the centre of Worcester. The noise from the motorway is evident outside but was not heard in the room although we faced away from the motorway and you might be wise to ask for a room like this, you also won't have a view of the car park.
The room itself is a decent size for what you are paying and this might be just a few £s more than a Travelogue allowing that you are also getting a full breakfast. The bed was firm and amenities were modern and worked; not a dodgy tv remote etc. plenty of storage space.
As mentioned elsewhere, the bathroom is small but not pokey.
Service was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was average. A bit odd not to be given a coffee pot. It's not a buffet so you order what you want and the portions were a good size. As with so many hotels, the piped music was irritating, too prominent and un-necessary.
If you don't mind the drive this is a hotel to consider.

Room Tip: Rooms facing away from the motorway will be quieter.

Driving past here on Saturday lunchtime and decided to pop in for lunch and so glad we did. I just had a ham, pear chutney and leaves sandwich and my son had the haddock and chips from the lunchtime menu. The sandwich was excellent although would have been much improved on a more artisan bread rather than the sliced brown from the local supermarket. But the ham and the chutney made up for it and I would have it again. It came with salad and a large serving of fries. The haddock was very good, exactly what it said it would be and it was wolfed down by a hungry teenager with some happy munching sounds.
The barman was very friendly and made our whole experience at the Pear Tree very pleasant.

Having moved to Droitwich, we thought we should try the local restaurants. Been many years since we first went here, but we shall return. My husband had baked Hake in a delicious cheese and leek sauce. I had Chicken Kiev, which would have been pretty tasteless without the garlic, not the best piece of chicken I've ever had. However, it came with chunky chips and salad dressed with a gorgeous dressing. We had to wait quite a while for our meal, as they were very busy and unfortunately it was so cold in there, I kept my coat on. The staff were very pleasant and we shall return, but not until the weather gets warmer!
