“A very relaxing holiday.”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

We have just returned from Brynowen where we stayed on the Touring Caravan park. This was a very quiet and peaceful area of the resort. The pot washing stand was very close by but the toilet block was a good walk away and only has one shower for the 20 touring pitches which was not really adequate although the water was very hot and the block was clean enough.

We went in the swimming pool every day as our 8 year old son enjoys this part of the holiday most. We were in there for approx 2 hours every day and the pool staff, Liam, Sion and Bram were all very friendly and helpful, they even have a swimming "test" so that if your child is 8 or over and they can swim 2 widths of the pool they can be in the water on their own which I found most helpful as I dont enjoy swimming although this pool is the warmest I have ever been in, almost as hot as a bath. The pool closes at 4.45pm each day but then for just a couple of pound there are extra pool activities each night. My husband and son both did the aqua jets for an hour for £4 each and my son did "wipeout" which is a huge inflatable in the pool which the kids climb on and then the pool staff get in the water with them and knock them off, it was great fun and the staff interact very well with the kids.

The beach at Borth is very close and there are plenty of cafes, pubs and takeaways close by. There is also a monument for the First world war soldiers at the top of a hill just a short climb away where the views are astounding.

Aberystwyth is only about 5 miles away where you can get on a steam train to visit Devils Bridge or just wander round the shops.

All in all we had a lovely relaxing week and will definitely be staying here again.

Many thanks for your review of your short break with us. I am delighted to read that you found peace and quiet during your stay.

The facilities for the tourers include a block for men and one for women, each with their own showers, toilets and sinks. These are cleaned daily.

I will be passing this review on to all of the staff in the pool for them to see the rewards of their hard work.

Again, many thanks for your review and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Stayed for four nights in a gold plus caravan. Our caravan was just behind the park and entertainment/food centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My four year old son loved the madness mayhem evenings, park, arcades and the swimming pool, although the slide was never open due to being short staffed. Food at the patio bar is very tasty, however very expensive for what you get. And so is the alcohol. Cost £8.60 for one pint of guinness and one bottle of fruity cider. Some staff are very friendly where as others can't crack a smile.
If booking a holiday here be prepared for lots of walking as it's situated on the side of a hill.
Borth beach itself is beautiful!! With a mixture of sand and rock pools. We went to the animalarium borth zoo and it was well worth it. Not much else to do in borth itself and it looked very derilick after the storms at the beginning of the year.
Would definitely stay here again :-)

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay with us. I am delighted that you had a very enjoyable stay.

It is always great to read about the little ones enjoying Madness and Mayhem, something the Entertainments team always puts 100% into.

I am glad to hear that many of the team are coming across as happy and friendly, although I will be sure to pass this review on to all of the staff so that they can see the importance of everyone making sure they are as cheerful as possible on site.

Many thanks again for your feedback and we do hope to see you return soon.

We chose Brynowen Holiday Park purely going by its description on their web site. We chose the Gold Plus Caravan as we wanted a high quality caravan as we just wanted to spend quality time together and basically just chilling out. I was a little surprised by the caravan as it looked very basic with no carpets only in the bedroom. The feeling I felt was that I was in an on site building office with no character or a comfort feeling at all. I asked about the caravan whether it was a Gold Plus and was told that was how it comes from the manufacturer minimalistic. They should make this clear in their description as we would not have booked it with them. Well we live and learn by our mistakes just get on with our holiday now.

Room Tip: Check their description of the caravan.

Many thanks for your review.

We have two types of unit on park; ones that we own as a company and ones that we rent out on behalf of owners on park. The current style of the caravans is a more clean, chic and minimalist one that is proving popular with many guests. However, I appreciate that many guests do prefer the more ‘homely’ look that many of our caravans still offer.

I hope this didn’t impact on your stay too heavily and we do hope to see you again soon.

Stayed at Brynowen from Monday to Friday enjoyed the holiday. When we arrived we realised our room was not big enough for our travel cot in our room with us, we went to reception to ask about how much it would be for an upgrade, they changed our caravan free of charge! Only things we did not like was the on site restaurant as food wasn't very good. On site shop was okay not many shops around Borth but they do have a zoo close to the site! Caravan site and actual caravan was very clean. Entertainers were great really tried to get kids involved. Entertainment was good too! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend people to go to park resorts and would go back to one of their resorts again!

Many thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay with us here at Brynowen. I am delighted to hear that you had a great time.

Not all of our caravans are guaranteed to have space in the double room for a travel cot, so it is recommended that anyone thinking of bringing one with them rings the park before arrival. We cannot guarantee space but we will try our best.

Again, many thanks for your review and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

We have just camped for the second time this year at Brynowen, we checked in quickly and painlessly as usual and headed to the camping area which is at the far end of the lower park. We had bags of space and were even quite secluded behind the trees. The shop facilities are great, prices good and the evening entertainment was great for a night on the site. The only gripe is that it is about 100 mtrs to the toilet block from the tourer section and this time they didn't seem to be cleaned often, out of paper, someone had even used blue kitchen roll and left that there for others. Overall though, a great site and base, we will definitely be back

Room Tip: Camping and mooching around the beautiful coastline is recommended!

Children enjoyed the kids clubs and the evening entertainment was very good. A liitle expensive in the entertainment complex if you have children. The entertainment and bar staff very fun and friendly. Staff in caravan sales very abrupt and pushy, just wanted to enjoy my holiday without sales staff pushing for a sale...ruined my holiday alittle. Reception staff were okay seemed to be too busy to help out. The shop on park was very good value for money didnt need to buy else where, everything was catered for, nice clean little shop and staff were very funny friendly and helpful, very pleased with their service better than the overall service of staff on park.

Thank you for your review. I am glad to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay.

It is most out of character for our sales team to be at all “pushy” - this is far from the ethos that our Caravan Sales Manager expects of his team. I apologise if you felt pressured at all.

I will be passing your glowing comments on to the shop staff.

Many thanks and we hope to see you again soon.

We've never stayed on a Holiday Park before but we took advantage of a Special Offer. It was lovely, a beautiful caravan with all modern conveniences, fabulous views over the bay, friendly helpful staff and a wonderful location.
