Owner description: Travelling on the Vale of Rheidol Railway is the finest way to see the stunning Rheidol Valley. We pass through wide open fields, woodland and rugged mountain scenery as the line twists and turns clinging to the hillside gradually climbing nearly 700ft (200m)from Aberystwyth to reach our destination at Devil’s Bridge. Birds of prey such as Red Kite and Buzzards are regularly seensoaring high above the valley floor and breathtaking views can beenjoyed by all.

Loved everything about this trip and would recommend it to people of all ages. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the train was spotlessly clean and very comfortable (for an old train)

Thanks for your review - we are glad you enjoyed the trip and the spectacular views from the train. We appreciate we may be at the upper end of the price bracket, but for a railway journey of this length it compares very favourably with other lines,

One of the most scenic train rides in the world. Everything on this lovely line is kept to the highest standard and the work done to all the stations is superb. My wife loved driver for a fiver as did my youngest daughter. Thank you to all the staff for making this trip an amazing family day.

The train stars by ambling alongside flat fields before taking a slow climb, which catches you unaware, because after a while you realise you are in the hills running beside a steep sheer drop with amazing views of valleys and hills all around.

Stunning and the walk at the end to see the waterfall is amazing

We are glad you enjoyed your trip - the journey certainly is a varied one. Aberystwyth station is a few feet above sea level and Devil's Bridge is 680 foot up, so we climb nearly 200 metres up into the Cambrian Mountains. Thanks for your review.
