This has always been the best B&B in Aber. It's perfectly situated, right opposite the sea, it's spotless and comfortable, the breakfasts are lovely and John is the perfect host - he let's you get on with your stay but is perfectly attentive when required. He also has a killer sense of humour! Have stayed here before, in the days before TripAdvisor, and it's still a warm, Welsh welcome and excellent value for money that greets you. You won't find a better place to stay in Aber!

Stayed 3 nights here. Great little place to stay. Spotlessly clean with everything you need in a room. Our room 6 was spacious with chairs in the bay window so you can sit and look out at the sea. Breakfast was lovely, we had full Welsh everyday, comprised of 2 slices smoked bacon, 1 sausage,a perfect fried egg, mushrooms and tomato. So not massive. but fine for us. Parking is in the surrounding roads, or a pay and display just down the road. We did manage to park near the B&B every night as the roads start empty in the evenings.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and got the impression that nothing was too much trouble for the owner John.
We stayed for two nights on a long weekend trip down memory lane. Many happy holidays were spent in Aber just up the road from Yr Hafod at my grandparents house, and mum booked our stay after reading many other happy guests reviews on trip advisor.

waa lovely despite being and the back of the house and not having a sea view (though we did have a look in the sea view rooms and the views really are wonderful!) everything was immaculate, and john clearly puts a lot of effort into making sure the little touches don’t get forgotten.
Breakfast was delicious (full welsh of course!) and we loved chatting to John and being entertained by his jokes and stories of Aber life.
We’ll be recommending Yr Hafod to friends and family visiting Aber, and we’ll be back again for sure! What a wonderful find.
Booked a sea view room and those views are magnificent. Right opposite the beach, from our window we could see the beach and hear the sea, which I loved. If you are patient you will see the dolphins that play in the bay. We were in room 6, the room was spacious, spotlessly clean and well decorated. In the room there was a kettle and tea/coffee/chocolate, also a jar of mint chocolates, bottled water, large tv & hairdryer. In the bathroom there was shampoo, conditioner, lovely soft towels. John the owner is a lovely guy, very welcoming and works hard and tirelessly, with a great sense of humour, the lovely host. Breakfast was delicious, with a choice of cereals, full english breakfast, plenty of tea/coffee and toast. John has put together a very informative file for guests, which includes the Yr Hafod rules and also places to visit, best restaurants in Aberystwyth ( as recommended by guests) Wifi code etc. As you read the information you will get a taste of Johns comical sense of humour. All the above and more made our two night stay very enjoyable to say the least. I could go on and on, all excellent. We will definitely be regular visitors to Yr Hafod. Thank you John
We feel so lucky that we found John's wonderful B&B. His great sense of humour made it fun right from the start. Immaculately clean, beautiful room with ensuite and sea view. excellent breakfast, and a perfect location near the castle and harbour. Very fast wifi and we enjoyed the pub he sent us to!! :) When we're back we'll definitely choose to stay here again.
Still excellent. John is a great host. Very very clean and comfortable. We will be back. Breakfast is good, with an option of a vegetarian breakfast as well. The views are amazing at the front of the B & B. We had a rear room, and the wet room certainly made up for the lack of the view.
