I've stayed here twice, once with friends and once with partner, and would recommend the hotel for it's lovely spacious bedrooms, public areas and wonderful breakfasts. The location is great right on the sea front but only minutes from the shops. I would choose this hotel every time I wish to stay in Aberystwyth.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are great but the rear facing rooms also have a pleasant outlook.

Such a wonderful place!!! The rooms are lovely and we were very lucky and had a room with a sea view. It was the last room they had and it turned out to be a family room. The bedroom was nicely decorated with red being used as the accent colour. The bed was really comfortable and very difficult to get out of in the morning!!!! The room also had tea and coffee making facilities and it was nice to see that the items provided were all made in Wales.

The bathroom was large and had a bath and shower, and lovely toiletries were provided for you to use.

The whole room was spotlessly clean!!!

The staff were wonderful and very helpful - in fact nothing was too much trouble for them.

Breakfast was brill and with plenty of choices!!!!!

This is one place I would be happy to stay in time after time!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view!!!

We are regreting now that we only booked for one night at the Richmond. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean,(Much nicer than the 4star we stayed in later on our trip). The view was superb and as other reviews have said we could have spent a lot of time sitting in the seats by the window watching the world go by.
The breakfast was excellent and the service throughout was friendly and helpful. Will hopefully return to explore more of mid and West Wales.

Room Tip: Ask for first floor sea view, there is no lift so higher floors need a degree of fitness.

Myself and a few other (mature) golfers stayed here this last week end for two nights. The hotel was spotless. Nice carpeting and paintwork throughout. The staff were very pleasant and most accommodating. The hotel had ample car parking at the rear adjacent to a small but very neatly trimmed garden. We had one evening meal which was good and two marvellous breakfasts. I'm not a big fan of two consecutive full breakfasts but I had them here. It's positioned slap bang on the sea front and only a few minutes walk from the evening activities. Bedrooms were good too. On our golfing trip we've stayed in 6 hotels in the last 7 years but the next time we are in Aberystwyth - this is where will come. No doubt. Very quiet and relaxing.

Room Tip: I was sharing a twin on the first floor, which was fine. Our other mates were on the third floor. Th...

Large, sunny room with a lovely modern decor.Right I'm the seafront... Could easily have sat in the armchair gazing at the sea for hours. Not to far to walk to the station, near lots of restaurants etc. Stunning breakfast too!!!

This is the fourth or fifth time we've stayed at the Richmond and we love it. Its location couldn't be better - right on the sea front, with its own car park at the back of the hotel, and within a few minutes' walk of the town centre.

Our room on the first floor at the front of the hotel had extremely comfortable beds, was attractively furnished and very clean - our ensuite shower-bathroom positively sparkled. The view of the prom, beach and sea from the bedroom window is wonderful. There are small armchairs and a table in the bay window, so it's a lovely place to sit with a cup of tea and watch the sea, the weather or the world go by (there's a kettle in the room with a good variety of hot drinks and some biscuits).

The hotel has a comfortable bar if you just want a drink, though I'd recommend having dinner at the Richmond too - the food is excellent. A good variety of dishes made with fresh ingredients; the vegetables are cooked to perfection. I particularly enjoyed the sea bass (probably the best I've ever eaten) and the duckling. And the breakfasts are a real feast! Lots of different dishes of fresh, tinned and dried fruit, with yoghourt, cereals and juices, then you can order your own combination of freshly cooked hot food (bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomato etc) and toast.

And last but not at all least, the lovely staff. Everyone's really friendly and welcoming - the owners, reception staff, waiters/waitresses and cleaners. They all seem to want to make sure each guest enjoys their stay and has everything they need.

All in all, a great place to stay and highly recommended. We'll certainly keep on coming back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view.

I've stayed in Aberystwyth a few times lately and have not been able to find a decent hotel - Gwesty Cymru is always full. However I was pleasantly surprised following a recent business stay at the Richmond Hotel. The location on the prom is excellent and my room had a great view. . The room itself was clean and modern although the bathroom was a little on the small side. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and we had a lovely lunch here the following day. The car park at the back is also a bonus. This is a good clean and welcoming 3* hotel and I would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: I'm aware that some rooms have yet to be modernised so worth checking when booking. Sea view roo...
