“Brilliant nights stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 October 2013

Arrived in Aberystwyth, and found this gem of a hotel. Really friendly and helpful staff, lovely room with sea view. We decided to dine in the restaurant and enjoyed a really good meal. The Lamb was amazing. Breakfast next morning was just as good and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Will definitely recommend and return.

We booked the Richmond after seeing positive reviews on this site as we were here for the university Open Day. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room had a marvellous sea view. The room was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast, too, was plentiful and freshly cooked to order. Car parking was a bonus. Would thoroughly recommend .

Room Tip: Sea view is a must

Lovely location and own car park a bonus. On arrival I was greeted with a very friendly welcome and was given a beautiful big room overlooking the sea. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The breakfast and service was faultless. I would definitely stay there again without any doubt. Highly recommended.

Prior to our arrival, emails were answered personally and promptly, and our request for a sea-view room was confirmed. check-in was very efficient and we had no problem parking. Our room was large, clean and very well equipped. we enjoyed a drink in the bar in the evening with a great view of a spectacular sunset. we cannot comment on dinner but breakfast was excellent . the waitress could not have been friendlier or more helpful .We also hope to return for our sons graduation.

Central and on the promenade in a great position for town and sea walks we had great pleasure in finding the Richmond Hotel. The room we stayed in overlooking the sea was wonderful. It was clean, very spacious and comfortable. We had a twin room as my mother came with me. She agreed how friendly all the staff were. My son (who is at uni) joined us in the bar and was made to feel very welcome. We sat in the bar lounge and with our drinks enjoyed the sunset over the sea - stunning.
We couldn't fault the breakfast, there was plenty of food whether it was fruit and cereal or cooked full breakfast or both. The staff were cheerful and friendly. Thank you Richmond hotel we are looking forward (in anticipation to our son's graduation) to visiting you soon again. Debbie Barker

We agree with all the nice things that are said about the Richmond Hotel -- the friendly staff, beautiful sea views from bar, bedrooms and restaurant, the location, the room amenities, the comfort, the cleanliness.

This is review is to pay special tribute to the fine dining restaurant. We had a reservation for our first of three nights, thinking we'd look for other places for the other two nights, but on night one, we were so impressed with the choice of menu starters, mains and desserts, that we decided to forget about traipsing around the town when we could just stay "home" and enjoy the fine dining there. I had the lamb dish twice, because it was so especially delicious and tender, and was accompanied with a variety of veg. It was served as a mini roast, like a tender fillet mignon of beef, only it was lamb! -- cooked from fresh local source.

The hotel proprietor must make a point of hiring only young people who have intelligence, naturally good manners, articulation, innate social skills and the ability to perform multi functions. Wonderful!

Room Tip: Just ask for sea view.

Really comfortable. The hotel was busy, as it was Freshers Week at the university, so we ended up with a twin room. I slept better, as the wife could not hit me throughout the night because of my snoring, allegedly. Nice to find the proprietor was a fellow petrol head!
The staff were all superb.
