I stayed here in December and this time returned with friends and was not disappointed. My friends had a lovely sea view room and experienced fantastic sunsets. My room overlooked the well maintainted pretty garden. The staff were as helpful as I remembered and was suprised when they remembered me. Once again the breakfast was cooked to perfection. I will be returning again to this hotel

This B &B is overvalued, the room is alright but it is far too expensive comapare with the others b&b. If you really need to stay here, choose the most luxury room type (with sea view), stay in a normal B&B of you are on budget.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Richmond. The location is perfect, right across from the beach. The service was very friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. The only downside was that the window opened only a few inches, and on this very warm weekend, our room was too hot. The hotel did provide a small fan, which helped a little.

Typical B&B from the byegone era
nice view of the sea- nice brekky but odd food in the night-
didnt like being told to wait in the bar on my own prior to evening meal even despite reservation being made- odd-
long trek up the 3 flights of stairs with the suitcases (help) and no one did help me-
small carpark
clean room but with cheap furniture
limited menu
wasnt into the watching the police dealing with drunks on the prom

Pleasant staff, good breakfast and generally clean all round but expensive for what and where it is. Bedroom had obviously recently been given the once over (flat screen TV and newly decorated bathroom) but pictureless walls, high ceilings and dreary old green carpets contributed to a cheerless feel. Sea view is OK but If you like window open at night expect to be woken by drunken students as they make their way home. This is an old-school seafront hotel trying hard to keep its head above the grot of Aberystwyth - a town we shall not return to as it is so awful. I feel slightly sorry for the Richmond as it sits on a heritage promenade which is a mix of student digs, other hotels and boarded up buildings. Town council should be ashamed.

On a much needed break with my partner we stayed 3 nights in our sea facing room, spectacular views, extremely comfortable bed, modern bathroom, fluffy towels AND Sky TV, including the sports channels with which hubby was very impressed.
The staff are courteous, very helpful and nothing seemed to be any trouble for them.
Breakfast is served hot and fresh to order with an emphasis on local produce.
We dined in on one night - do try the vension pate with beetroot relish, absolutely delicious.
In all we would highly commend this charming hotel and look forward to returning in the Autumn.
