Stayed at the Conrah several times with work betwewn October and April. Stayed in a variety of rooms and some a better than others.

The staff were absolutely brilliant at the hotel and nothing was too much trouble.

During my stays the menu varied but the choice wasn't huge, although they were only too happy to make something else.

Breakfast was lovely. Nice selection and really tasty cooked breakfast using local produce.

Wifi available....although could be a little intermittent.

Would recommend to friends and family.

Very friendly personal welcome and personal touch throughout.
Suitcase carried up, this does not always happen in other places! Huge cheerful yellow painted room with sunshine streaming in (on this occasion) Amply furnished in old fashioned but useful style with desk and easy chairs, side window to garden. Perfectly peaceful standing in own grounds.Large bathroom. Lovely quiet sitting room downstairs as well as bar and dining room. Views from windows over valley, green and uninterrupted.
Breakfast all that I would wish for and I can be hard to please! Grapefruit good and healthy and lovely generous portion of haddock and poached egg - other half was good for the day on the delicious full Welsh.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for two nights on a Living Social deal and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the moment we parked in the car park and looked out over the beautiful hills to checkout our experience was second to none. We were greeted by a friendly young man at reception (sorry didn't get his name) who checked us in then took us to our room on the first floor (3) and wow! it overlooked the same fabulous view over fields of sheep and rolling hills. This was a great start to a wonderful couple of days. As we arrived on a Sunday afternoon it appeared this same young man was doubling up as barman and waiter but nothing was too much trouble and he performed his duties efficiently and courteously, wish I'd asked his name so that I could give him a special mention, he is a credit to the hotel.
Our room, as mentioned had wonderful views, was large, clean and comfortable with tea/coffee and biscuits. The bed was also large and we had two very good nights sleep, the bathroom was clean with a good shower, bath, complimentary toiletries and lots of hot water. Breakfast was hearty, cereal, fruit and yogurt, full English, toast and tea/coffee all well presented and tasty. Extra tea and toast was no trouble for the the friendly and efficient staff. We had two evening meals in the restaurant and couldn't fault either, the Sunday menu is particularly good value, 2 courses £14 or 3 for £16.95. The presentation of both evening meals was lovely and was an indicator of the wonderful tastes to come, the desserts are scrummy too!! Eton mess is huge. Compliments to the chef.
The hotel is ideally situated for days out however you like to spend your time. We went to Devil's Bridge to see the falls, not for those with walking difficulties, but well worth the effort if you can manage the ups and downs of the trail, then on to Nant Yr Arian and the Kite feeding station, spectacular!!! Aberystwyth is only a short drive away with the usual shops and eateries although we were a little disappointed with the state of the town which appeared a little run down. The seafront is long and ideal for a relaxing walk with seats where you can take a break and admire the view out to sea.
We will certainly return to The Conrah when in this area of Mid Wales, we really loved everything about it and recommend you pay them a visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear, overlooking the fields and hills.

Wonderful stay in a hotel that has character, good sized rooms and wonderful views. When we 1st walked into the hotel it really had the wow factor compared to expectations. Unfortunately I cannot give it 5 star rating for the following reasons: Cobwebs galore in the bathroom, wobbly toilet seat, chipped paintwork, wallpaper peeling in places, and bathroom tap damaged (room 7). Although this may sound terrible to some people, it really didn't change our experience which was that it was lovely, but there are fussy people out there, so if the little things irritate you, or you are one of life's nit pickers, then don't say you weren't informed. Staff pleasant and breakfast was great. Overall my wife and I loved it and would happily book again.

I can only apologise for the cobwebs and assure you that constant review of our practises and training will eliminate these problems. I would love to see you both again in the future to see the ongoing improvements.

My wife and I were looking for a low cost way to spend our 10th wedding anniversary when we happened upon this little gem on living social. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we felt totally relaxed in this lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. We were also pleasantly surprised by our final bill after having a few drinks and a 2 course evening meal on the Saturday night. Would we visit again? Simply yes!

We stayed for two nights, as we had tickets to a show at The Arts Centre in Aberystwyth. We had stayed here once before, several years ago, when our son was at Aberystwyth University. The hotel still met, and in some cases, exceeded our expectations. The staff are very friendly and the service was exemplary. We had a lovely room - large and comfortable, with amazing views over the welsh countryside. House keeping was excellent; the restaurant provided food of outstanding quality - locally sourced produce and well presented. Breakfast was delicious. We also had sandwiches in the lounge on arrrival. Everything was of the highest standard. If we return to Aberystwyth, this will be our hotel of choice.
