We arrived at this hotel to view it purely on the recommendations we had read on Tripadvisor. A member of staff was outside soaking up the sunshine (in Wales, in March!), and she took us to reception. I asked the receptionist whether we could have room 3 and she said it was already booked, however she would move the gentlemen concerned because he had not yet arrived and had not actually been promised this room. The previous reviewer was right: the view from room 3 is superb through the lovely bay window. The bedroom is large, clean , well appointed and has an enormous , comfortable bed. There are also two armchairs in which to sit and just take in the vista. The bathroom is perfectly adequate and clean though we do not really like carpet in bathrooms. As for the restaurant, I have had better meals but my wife really enjoyed hers so I guess it may well have just been down to personal choice. The breakfasts were excellent. The hotel itself is very clean and tidy and the staff that we met couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Try it for yourself but when you ring do make sure that there are no weddings or functions on, as there was a huge marquee on the front lawn.

This is a lovely hotel, very relaxing comfortable and calm. We had room 3 on the first floor which had the most stunning bay window with beauiful views. The restaurant in the hotel was a little pricey, but you got what you paid for and the food was lovely. We would definatley stay there again and would be asking for room 3.

I stayed here with my mum for one night in July. We had been to Gwesty Cymru the night before (also in Aberystwyth). Both were very different but excellent in different ways.
The staff at the Conrah were extremely helpful, hard-working, and friendly. We had one of the annex/cottage rooms which was delightful.
The hotel is in a lovely setting, very quiet, lovely garden, gorgeous views.
The evening meal was delicious and so too was the breakfast.
The manager came round the tables in the evening to chat to guests - which was lovely - very good customer care/service.
It's a hotel that is a bit more dated than the Gwesty Cymru (very modern) but it has charm, it was clean, and the food was delicious.
Oh and parking was really easy - lots of parking (unlike hotels in Aber town centre).
I would recommend that you give this hotel a go.

We arrived at the hotel on Bank Holiday Sunday and were shown to our room (room 1) by the lady on reception - who was very pleasant and extremely helpful. Our room was perfectly acceptable, it was clean, well decorated and had plenty of storage space in the wardrobe and dressing tables if you were staying for any length of time. I would also agree with previous comments about carpet in the bathroom being usual.

We had booked a table for dinner at 7pm - I had roast beef and my husband had roast lamb - both meals were well presented and very tasty. Breakfast the next morning was excellent and certainly not to be missed! The views from the dining room were absolutely stunning!
