One of the most awesome sights I have ever seen was the feeding of these wonderful birds in the wild.
The visitor center is lovely and the cafe varied (a little dear perhaps) but it all goes to help this wonderful place so we didn't mind

When God made the world he certainly kept the best until last!! What a fantastic place. We've been going to Aberystwyth for years and today is the first time for us to stop at Bwlch Nant yr Arian. The views are simply breath-taking from all directions. You watch in awe as the red kites hover, dive and glide above you. A great day out if you like being outdoors - very scenic with a great variety of plants and wildlife. Plenty of parking here for a fee but the rates are reasonable so don't be put off. At the visitors centre there is a really good café, kids play area, toilets and visitors shop. Plenty of info leaflets/guides which are free. The many walks are graded for level of difficulty so everyone can enjoy this. You can choose to stop here for just an hour en route to Aberystwyth or you can spend a day here. Our plans are for the latter - DEFINATELY will be back to walk the circular route to Old Goginan.

This was my favorite place to go, visitor centre great, red kites great, cafe great. But and it is a big but, they have cut all the lovely trees down and now looks more like a bomb has gone off. Well disapointed it was lovely I want cry......

The larch trees at Bwlch Nant yr Arian were infected with a disease called P. ramorum (or larch disease). We felled them in 2013 to help stop the spread of this disease to other forests as well as remove the infected trees from here. In winter 2014, we replanted 12,000 native deciduous species including seesile oak, birch, wild cherry and my others. The bracken bramble, grasses and billberry have already started to 'green' the hillside up nicely.

Great day out for families with lots to see and do. Kite feeding highlight of the day but plenty of other wildlife to see. Fabulous views over valleys and mountains with excellent cafe on site. Will definitely go back time and time again.
