Watching the Red Kites flying in to be fed is an unforgettable experience and not to be missed so make sure you are there at the right time. There is no admission fee and parking is only £3. There is a good café which has good views of the Kites and also has an out door seating area, this is useful if mobility is a problem. It's only a short walk down the hill to get a closer view of the Red Kites as the arrive and swoop down over the lake to pick up food from the island opposite the main viewing area. For children there are excellent adventure playgrounds to keep them occupied. For the energetic there are many cycle trails amongst the stunning forest scenery. I have visited twice, once in good weather and once in torrential rain and my advice is pick a fine day.
