“One night stay”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

We stayed at this hotel for a Sunday Night stay to watch a show in the University Arts Centre.
The Sat Nav took us to the back of the hotel where the parking was which was really helpful.
The hotel is in a great location with plenty of shops and places to eat - all within walking distance.
We did have to wait to check in - as there was nobody on the desk.
We had a top floor room facing the road. Good size and had everything needed.
Breakfast was good - and a nice menu choice.
Friendly and polite staff.
Would visit here again.

Harry's hotel is above their pub & restaurant, and is a short walk from the train station & a shorter stroll to Aberystwyth's sea front.

My room was small for a double, but clean with a comfortable bed, which I presumed was new... the white towels clearly were as they left fluff all over me! The bathroom was a good size with a surprisingly large shower which again was spotless.

When checking in, I could've done without the "there's no night porter, so if you lose your key card there's a nice bus shelter over the road" comment, but maybe this was just misplaced banter as I am a young man.

Basic, but I would stay here again.

Stopped for one night to explore the town as we had not been before. The sat nav directed us round to the back of the B&B which was initially confusing (that's sat navs for you) but we made our way onto the main road and found Harry's quite easily. There are parking bays to pull up in at the front to be able to check in, which we were able to do and luckily there was a parking space available at the back for the B& for us. I'm not sure this would always be the case during busy periods, but there seems to be lots of parking around. The room was large and comfortable, bathroom had great shower and was clean. My only issue was the slight smell of smoke, probably because we overlooked the beer garden where all the smokers go and I have a ridiculously sensitive sense of smell (my boyfriend didn't notice it at all). The B&B is over a bar, which you can eat in, although we ventured into town. The location is a few streets away from the sea front and near bars and places to eat, so great to explore from. The bar was closed when we returned, so there was no noise to us awake and we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good, with several choices and staff were all accommodating to our requests. Recommended as a place to stay if visiting this town.

Have stayed at this hotel twice via Laterooms and find it to be a comfortable hotel with lots of character. The rooms are clean and well appointed even if getting to them can feel like scaling the north face of the Eiger as there is no lift! As it is an old building the floors can slope a little but this is not a problem. We ate supper and breakfast in the hotel and both were well cooked and plentiful. The staff were helpful and friendly. Even though the bar downstairs can be popular with students in term time, when we stayed it was very quiet. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and toiletries, hairdryer & hospitality tray provided.

Room Tip: There is no lift so if you have a problem with stairs make sure you request a lower floor room, howe...

Stayed for 1 night, great location, very friendly and helpful staff, and quick check in, room was spacious and clean, well presented, found it amusing as half of the hotel had a lean and all the door frames were out and the furniture not straight, and our bed seemed to slope downwards, but wasn't a problem, its rather unique, nice freshly cooked breakfast....

Room Tip: We stayed in room 8, which was a good size and the shower amazing...

The room was large; the bed was very comfortable; the shower was great; plenty of storage space; good hospitality tray with plenty of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits; Room was really clean and fresh smelling. Towels replaced every day and room serviced everyday. Breakfast was cooked to order- the egg was perfect however I had it cooked (I only like soft eggs with really runny yolks and it is not often that I get it served the way I like it!),bacon, mushrooms and tomato all nicely cooked and very tasty. Help yourself to cereals, fruit juice, tea and coffee which is good because no hanging around waiting to catch a waitresses eye if you want a refill! Staff all very pleasant, polite, friendly and helpful. Good lunch and evening menu at reasonable prices, well stocked bar, nice little patio area at the back of the hotel. Convenient parking at the back of the hotel. 5 mins walk to the beach, shops, train station and lots of lovely restaurants. Definitey would recommend staying at this hotel. However if you are elderly, disabled or take a lot of heavy luggage ask for a room on a low level. There are no lifts and the stairs are steep and winding as it is an old building. if you are fit and travel light then I can recommend room 17 !

Room Tip: room 17 is a good size room but at the top of the building and no lifts would not be good for the el...

We stayed one night and were satisfied. Room on the second floor (no lift). The room is quite small and simple. But there is all you need, tea-making facilities, hair dryer, enough towels. Bathroom is quite nice and the room was clean. The floor of the room is in fact not level and we would lean head down. But it didn't really matter and we slept well. Our room was facing back and was quiet. But I wouldn't want to stay for long, since the furniture of the room is a bit youth hostel style and doesn't make the room a place you want to spend a lot of time in. The price was alright with 49 pounds, including breakfast. And the nice surprise was a really good breakfast.
We were lucky to get one of the six or seven spots in the car park behind the house. Otherwise it'll be difficult because one can only park for one hour along the street. Or from six pm to 8 am, then you'll have to move the car. All in all a really good stay for one night.
