“This is a hidden gem. Quite literally...”
Reviewed 5 June 2010

This is a hidden gem.

Quite literally so as it is located behind the main deli business. The restaurant has a cafe/bodega feel, with two large tables and tables facing the walls. The atmosphere is normally vibrant and always busy.

The food is fresh, extremely tasty and well presented. It is essentially a tapas- based menu, albeit one offering an expanded choice and not what one would find in la tasca.

I highly recommend you pay it a visit, and am always urging people to go there if they are in my home town. If you do follow my advice, then spend some time in the deli as well.

“Always a pleasure in this small but well varied tapas bar and restaurant”
Reviewed 9 January 2010

Visited this restaurant today again, I am a regular and very satisfied customer. The menu always has a good mix of prices and a varied choice of food, from vegetarian to deli meats, both hot and cold meals, and an interesting selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The food is made fresh, indeed if you sit in the right place you can see them cooking it for you! Ordering prettty much anything from the menu includes a complimentary portion of bread and olives, perfect for filling up the (usually short) wait for your main dish. Staff are always friendly work hard to make sure you're enjoying the experience. Prices are from £4 for something from the tapas menu, good value. Food is either sourced locally (for fresh meats and fish, as well as some dairy) or their suppliers in Spain and France from the deli side of the business. Meat is often free range, especially chicken, and the staff are always knowledgeable about traceability.

There are two large tables that accomodate a number of small groups or couples, as well as bar seating if you'd like to have a little more privacy.
