There must be worse hotels than the Marine but I haven't stayed in any recently. In desperate need of refurbishment. Feels dirty. Carpets your aunty might have had in the 1950s throughout. In my room that same standard of tired carpet was also in the bathroom which is a no no I would have thought in the interests of hygiene alone

Took a chance and booked this hotel off the Internet - really good choice. Excellent hotel, friendly staff, only problem was my room was a bit overcrowded, only because hotel wanted to provide for all our needs. Took dinner in the hotel and it was one of the best meals we have had in a hotel for some time. Food was well prepared hot and came with more than enough veg for two hungry people, we even had to leave some! Wished we stayed longer!

Walked in and given two key options to look at rooms. Great staff. choose a family room which was very large with very comfortable beds. I was thinking this was a b and b but its a good hotel. Had a huge bathroom with all amenities, clean and everything worked ! Difficult parking around the back and not alot of space. Excellent breakfast, buffet style but the staff were great, food well presented and tasty. If your a family doing a tour, go there. Very reasonable price. Had an evening drink and again bar staff really good.

Room Tip: Goof family rooms.

Being born in Aber and having family there we return to the town three or four times a year. We have not stayed in the hotel, but always look forward to going to the Marine for Sunday lunch. Their carvery is fantastic. The meat is plentiful, lots of vegetables, and an amazing selection of desserts, which you can help yourself to. The staff are always helpful very friendly and the meal is excellent value. Following the meal it is enjoyable to sit having a drink overlooking the activities on the promenade and enjoy the wonderful views of Cardigan Bay. Would advice to book as it is very popular.

There's a fine line between "shabby chic" and just plain "shabby" - the Marine has one foot either side of the line.

The rooms in the older part of the hotel are fairly well equipped and pretty comfortable (nice beds), but very small. If your plans involve cat-swinging, you'll be very disappointed. Rooms on the front of the hotel have a sea view in their favour - otherwise you're overlooking the car park and other properties' garages. Rooms in the newer annex at the back are a bit larger (but not much), but lack the character and warmth of the rooms in the older part of the building.

I suggest getting down early for breakfast - all the hot food is out on a buffet, with the usual attendant issues (rubber eggs, beans with a skin on top, nothing as hot as it should be).

I stayed at the Marine for one night in a twin room - the room was clean and relatively modern, lovely large TV and a sea view- who could ask for more? The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly, and the buffet style breakfast was plentiful and tasty- just what I needed after a night out. Considering the price, this B&B is excellent value for money!
