wonderful !! we were only going to book the normal mine tour - of which you have a map and take a look at your own pace, but we thought as we have a nearly 12 yr old son he would appreciate the black chasm tour, and we sure did !! Scared !! Oooh yeah !! I dont like the dark, but I really enjoyed the tour !! Spooky, scary and with some absolutly wonderful staff !! It is somewhere I will visit again when we are in the area again. A big well done to the staff !! A wonderful experience !!!!

“God fun.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2012

My two boys loved sifting for "gold".
Although not a huge amount to do.
There is a lovely short walk above the actual lead mines.
Worth a trip if your all out if ideas or were hill walking with children around that area anyway.

“A must!”

Very well developed & interesting mine for all ages. Plenty of information to make the visit worthwhile without actually entering the mine. Well set out & sympathetically maintained & developed give the visitor atmosphere & working conditions when the mine was in use. Not to be missed.

“Poor Value for Money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2012

For £5.95 you get to walk around the site (surface only) and apart from one building showing a short film and another one with some old photo's, history and mining equipment there is not a lot else to see or do.

Very disappointing for the price!!!
