Found this Hotel via the Local Toursit Office, depsite them not being as helpfulas most other Toursit Offices we have used.

The welcome at the hotel was good. The room, although basic was good and clean. Throughtout our stay, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good.

Conveniently placed on the edge of Aberystwyth - own car park.

Hotel was not that busy even in August.

Would recommend this hotel to people who are passing through the area for a few nights.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor and the only view was of the car park

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in Plas Antaron. The hotel was busy as several families were staying and competing at the Hackney horse races. We had a comfortable and spacious room with great views. The room was very clean and the towels changed daily. The staff were friendly and could not do enough for us. Breakfast was very enjoyable, served with a smile and piping hot. We had breakfast with the other guests and their children. I was surprised to read in the previous review that they thought the hotel was not child friendly, we can only speak as we found and Gloria took time out to chat to the children and families. As I run a gold award b & b myself I can appreciate that Gloria has to make sure that other guests are not disturbed by children running amok. The children who were staying whilst we were there were very well behaved and their parents took responsibility for them. We had a great experience and would stay again.

We stayed at this hotel with our young family - whilst we couldn't fault the cleanliness or the breakfast, the owener's attitude left a lot to be desired. She obviously does not like children, and showed it. When I booked the hotel, she was aware that we had children, it would be better if she had said "children not allowed" Her attitude spoilt our stay. Would not recommend families to stay here.

The hotel is nice - the owner isn`t!

My bill was double charged on my bank card and my VISA card. To prevent paper work the owner promised to refund the money by bank transfer. After 10-20 emails I did not get my money till today!

Keep an eye on your money if you stay with these people!

So mediocre, we only stayed as there was no room anywhere else. Would not go again.

Having stayed at numerous places in Aberystwyth over the last 2 years, we wish we had found this sooner. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the ambience is one of peace and calm. The tariff is excellent value with a superb breakfast and service. The location is just a few minutes drive from town, but you are assured a quiet nights sleep unlike many town centre hotels. The staff are all wonderful and I would recommend it wholeheartedly.
