“Would definitely recommend.”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

Stayed for one night whilst visiting our daughter at University. Usually we stay in a hotel on the sea front, but due to recent high tides and strong winds, we opted to stay at Park Lodge. Parking near your chosen hotel/B&B in Aberystwyth can be a problem , so it was lovely that this hotel had it's own car park. A nice clean hotel, had everything we needed in the room, spotless bathroom and great shower. We did not have an evening meal so cannot comment, but the breakfast was splendid. Will definitely stay here again. It's only a few minutes drive to the sea front/Town Centre

I visited recently for lunch with colleagues and was really disappointed with the standard of the food. The chips were awful - soggy and pale with lots of tiny hard flakes that you usually get at the bottom of a bag of chips. I had been led to believe that they did nice home-made chips here, and as someone who only eats chips as a special treat, they were a real let-down. The peas were also not very good, and as for the token bit of salad - well... I could have got the same quality and standard of meal as this for half the price at a local pub.
The restaurant lacks real ambience, being a large open-plan room packed with tables and chairs. It reminded me of a school canteen.
The entrance to the hotel and lobby is so appealing with comfy-looking sofas, but I really can't recommend the restaurant. I would not go back there to eat. I can't comment on the rooms as I have not stayed there.

Room is OK (I stayed in room 10). Decor of bedroom very dated. Bathroom was clean. Shower v good pressure and temperature. Toiletries fine. Bed reasonable, but had better. No plug sockets near bed so not possible to charge phone overnight and keep it by bedside. Sofa getting old. Desk chair broken in one arm. Large LCD TV, good reception. Poor quality biscuits provided in room, they'd be better not bothering at all. Typhoo tea and basic Nescafe coffee sachets. No other drink options. No fresh milk, no fridge in room. No iron in room. Room warm enough but difficult to regulate heat. Worst thing about hotel was restaurant. Food is poor, not much better than a High St greasy cafe. Most options high in fat, hardly any healthy options. Very limited options for vegeterians. Restaurant rather cold too. At least the staff were pleasant.

We've visited this hotel several times over the past years and the welcome never changes. Absolutely brilliant. The staff go out of their way to do all they can for you. Even providing a company minibus to take you into town should you need it.
Look forward to seeing you next year. Thanks from the Bikesafe team.

I use this for my overnight business stays for it's location, parking, and general availability, but I also note that it is used by lots of families and tourists travelling around Wales and no doubt parents of students. The staff are great, friendly and accommodating, the rooms are good basic fare, clean, comfortable without being luxurious and a decent bathroom. When working it's good to be able to park up safely, get to your room, shower/change and then walk downstairs for a decent meal.

Room Tip: Rooms are fine and quiet, possibly one at the back may not have the bright outside lights but all sh...

A good quality modern hotel, rooms swart and comfortable, food in the restaurant very good and reasonably priced, good friendly staff too. Only small drawback is the distance form town , just a bit too far to walk.

The hotel is lovely, big room, lovely shower. It just lacked "something" for the price. The bin in the bathroom was on my arrival full of the previous occupants empty things and there was only one sachet of tea and one of decaf coffee. They were emptied/filled up the next day, but first impressions count!! The breakfast was ideal, but the evening meals were poor. I was on my own so didn't want to venture out, so I had no choice. I would have had more flavour than my lamb chops with seriously watered down mint sauce and bullet frozen peas if I had walked across the road to the MacDonalds. A place I never frequent. Meal one, pate and toast with chutney - ok - but had the same thing the next night as they didn't have my other choice. Surprise this time no chutney!! They need to up the anti in the meal situation to match the premises. Wont stay there again, sadly as it was in an ideal spot for work.
