The hotel was clean and the room was large, clean and nicely decorated and comfortable. We stayed one night travelling back from further up North down to Cardigan. The only fault we could find was the bistro which was cold looking and uncomfortable. The food in the evening was awful both my husband and I were unable to eat it. The breakfast however was really good which surprised us after the evening meal. The hotel is too far to walk into town and is on a busy roundabout opposite a Morrison's supermarket. I would probably never stay there again but it is okay for a one night stop over.

Booked a fanily room at the hotel which is located on the outskirts of Aberystwyth. Arrived early on a Friday evening to find ample car parking facilities right outside the hotel. Warm and friendly welcome from reception staff who were eager to explain the facilities on offer.

Our room was very spacious with sofa and easy chairs in addition to double and twin beds. On suite bathroom was clean and well presented.

We preferred to dine away from the hotel during the evenings however the buffet style breakfast was varied, youghurt, fruit salad, cereals and full english. Cooked fare was hot and tasty and very enjoyable. Staff were attentive without being obtrusive.

Nothing is perfect and a small gripe was that our room was a bove the kitchen area and extractor fans which did lead to an occasional food aroma but as we were out most of the time it was not a major issue. On the Saturday the hotel was hosting a wedding which upon our return was in full swing including disco. Pleasingly from our room we could not hear any noise from the party at all.

Overall, this hotel provided excellent value for money, we were well catered for and the facilities were of a high standard and the fare very good.

Three-night stay in this hotel and would definitely stay there again. Excellent breakfast, very spacious and comfortable bedroom, very clean and tidy. They looked after us well, including providing a great dinner for 100+ people - quality of food was v.g. and it was cooked properly and hot on our plates. It's a shame that there is not a small fridge in the room and the rooms were a bit too hot (so air-con would be nice), but other than that, no complaints at all.

Nothing is to much trouble for the staff of this hotel. We arranged an early check in for the 3 rooms we had booked the reception staff organised taxis for us when we went out and the rooms are spotlessly clean. Our family room had a double and single bed bath with overhead shower in the ensuite our sons single room was spacious (so many hotels put singles in a broom cupboard) and my parents double was also nice. The breakfast was fresh and had an adequate selection of fruit cereal yoghurt juice and of course bacon sausage egg etc, we have stayed here before and will again.

Very friendly staff, room OK - let down by bad lighting, en-suite (shower only) horrible, beds extremely comfortable, breakfast was AWFUL. In all OK for a one night stay but wouldn't consider any longer.

I have stayed here a few times but have not reviewd this for a while so felt it was time to add to the positive comments about this hotel. From contact at booking through to booking out we had a positive experience.

The room was a good size with all the usual facilities. In this part of mid Wales be aware that TV channels are usually limited. Room 1 was the ground floor next to the reception which was not a problem except that the smoking ban did not extend to the porch area directly outside our room - we were out most of the time but this would be a problem to anyone spending any time in the room

The breakfast was a buffet with fruit, cereal and cooked. As with all other parts of our stay the service was excellent with friendly and courteous staff. The food was of a good standard and plentiful.

We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend - we were impressed by the staff who adressed us by name which does not happen very often!

Stayed at the Aberystwyth Lodge for two nights, first night en route to Llandudno and the second night on return from Llandudno (to break our journey)
My husband and I had booked a twin room on the ground floor which was more than adequate. Lovely comfortable beds, in fact the best beds we have slept in at any hotel.
The breakfast and evening meal were very good and plentiful
The staff friendly and very helpful
The owners are hands on and were buzzing around between the
Reception and Dining Room /Kitchen.
I would not hesitate booking into this Hotel again
