This is the second time we have stopped at Gwesty Cymru whilst visiting my partners's daughter who is at uni in Aber.
If you want a luxury break in a hotel you must stay here! Again I did not want to particularly leave the hotel room as it is so cosy and comfortable.
It stands apart from other hotels and guest houses just because of the effort that has gone into making everything so perfect. For example, the bedding and towels are top quality, the oak furniture and doors and the luxurious feel to the bathrooms. Even the toiletries and the tea and coffee things were top notch.
We haven't tried the meals here, apart from the delicious breakfast, but we had a drink in the bar and the meals looked superb!
We couldn't get in here last time we tried as it was booked up and we had to settle for another of the seafront establishments. needless to say it wasn't a patch on Gwesty Cymru. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We have now stayed in the green room and the brown room. Both very similar in size and with back fac...

We toured Wales by both mainline and tourist steam trains plus the occasional bus in a circular route leaving from Hertfordshire. The travel within Wales was on a special touring ticket and very reasonable. We stayed at the best guest houses and hotels but the ultimate experience for opulence was at Gwesty Cymru Hotel. Everything from the welcome was amazing! We cannot wait to go back!

Room Tip: Every room is different but we had a room at the front on the first floor with perfect sea view, eve...

This hotel was beautiful! Although my room was in the attic I'd say it is arguably the best room they had, the view was amazing, the towel layout was memorable and overall the hotel gave me a great night whilst visiting Aber.

We ate in the restaurant downstairs and the food was beautiful. The starters of 'small plates' were a bit pricer than most ,£6.75 upwards ,but very tasty. The main courses of which there was only a choice of 5 were lovely especially the steak. Our friends said it was the best steak they had had for a long time.
The trio of chocolate was to die for. All round a very good place for a special occasion. Lovely staff and very nice toliets!

Great hotel, very clean and well maintained and a good location right on the promenade. The hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay while in Aberystwyth

DESPITE ITS REPUTATION FOR good food, the experience for this diner was spoilt by the location of the toilet on the ground floorr above the basement restaurant. to get to it one has to go up a set of stairs with a handrail on the right but none on the left which means that to return to the restaurant, with no handrail on the right when descending you have to go down baqckwards or as the hotel advised- wedge yourself across, because the stair is narrow enough. alternaqtivaqly if it is not raining too hard, go outside and reenter the restaurant from outside.
as this has had enourmous welsh asssembly grants, this is a disgusting oversight.

Room Tip: despit detailed online web page access statement restaurant highly ubsuitable for disabled diners.

I think it was a one off but we did not had the best experience there.

Room was ok, a bit small but clean. What spoiled our experience is the noise and we did not had the best sleep.

Worse was at the restaurant when we could not even here ourselves and did not finish our meal due to noisy externel customer. The waiters felt sorry and were really understandable and even offer to served us in our room but my headick killed my appetite.
