“frozen fish and oven chips”
Reviewed 22 October 2012

Terrible food, frozen ,poor quality pub food at restaurant prices. Way overpriced for what you get. Not even an attempt to make it look good on plate, a mass of frozen chips with a piece of frozen fish shoved on. Noisy bar all around. Not a restaurant to visit.

“Terrible food, terrible service never again.”
Reviewed 3 August 2012

Always heard great things about harrys in my home town. Popped home for a meal with family & thought we'd book harrys for a treat. How very dissapointing, ordered a rump steak medium rare, it wasnt! My dad ordered gammon, it wasnt cooked i mean how can you not cook gammon properly! My wife ordered a rump steak with new potatos & they were microwaved & very dry. My step mother is a veggie & there was only 1 option so she had a tough decision on what to order & that turned out to be microwaved & very dry.

The staff were miserable & just seemed like they didnt wanna work there.

The new ownership need to get a grip because harrys did have a very good name. I strongly recommend you avoid dining out at this restuarant!

“Mixed feelings”
Reviewed 20 July 2012

A strange one this. We had a nice meal - simple affordable fare in pleasant surroundings. Good choice of starters: we had mushrooms/prawn cocktail. Mains were solid - lasagne/chips and curry. Food no problem - for us (more of that later). Food was hot, tasty and much enjoyed

Yet Harry's seemed to think it was an exclusive restaurant or that was the impression it gave. When we arrived (to an almost deserted dining room), staff asked is we had booked. When we said we hadn't, tuts and eye rolling were visible (not impressed). The place did not fill up all night - and it was a Saturday! We were possible customers - felt we were judged as not their type. How did they know what we might have spent if we felt comfortable there??!!
To cap it all, we could not sit down until they had let us in by lifting the rope cordoning off the restaurant from the bar!! Nice.
Nice surroundings and an attentive waitress (once we were let in)
We were both interested and amused by a nother couple who fiercely complained about their food (after, we noted, consuming most of it) the manager took a very long time to come down to talk to the man who seemed to want a full discussion with him.
However, we did enjoy our meal but a message to harry's - get over yourself!! Treat every potential customer with respect please. They are paying your wages

“Nice place”
Reviewed 12 July 2012

Nice place, the restaurant area is kept seperate (ish) from the bar area although noise comes through. The place can get crowdy in the evening with students however the quality of the food and service is decent.
