It's Wetherspoons. The food is cheap and pretty bad, if they have what you want at all. They have some good drinks, but they can also screw up cheese on toast. Chips are decent though. It's where you go when you can't be bothered, really, or are starting a night out. Or waiting for the train--just getting a drink in the back patio by the station can be pretty nice. Really it's all fine, except the actual food. The vegetarian curry must be okay since it sells out so quickly every time (I've never managed to get it) but stay far away from the 'rarebit' as it's really pretty dire.
That said, the staff are generally good, the service isn't too slow, and they're good about letting people move around the tables to accomodate larger groups.
