We stayed here mid-week as we were going to visit Zip World & Bounce Below for my Birthday. The location of the Guest House is good but there is not much to recommend Bangor. We couldn't find any smart restaurants to celebrate my Birthday so ended up going to the local pub which was fine but nothing special.
Our room was on the ground floor and fairly large. The en-suite was a good size but was looking a bit tired and the grout is a bit mouldy in places. It was nice to have tea/coffee making things in the room but we only used it once as the kettle seemed to trip the power, which went off twice whilst boiling the kettle. Also the coffee tasted really bad, not sure if it was the coffee, the milk or the water but we couldn't drink it. It was good also to have free wifi
There are only three parking spaces in front of the house but parking on the road is free and easy to get a space.
Les, the owner of the Guest House was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was good and generous portions.

Just back from a weekend break in North Wales. Stayed at the Garth and wanted to pass on how very good this guest house is.
perfectly placed for all the attraction of the region, from Snowdon to Anglesey, Carnaervon Castle,
And all the pretty places in between.
Very competitive rates at this guest house might belie the quality that awaits you, along with the welcome from the owners. Native to the area, your host Les can recommend places to eat, drink, and make the most of your " Snowdonia Time "
Have to mention the "Best Breakfast in Bangor" reputation.
Virtually anything you could want on a breakfast plate , worth the price of your B&B on its own.
Would return here in a trice.

Room Tip: Singles,Doubles,Family rooms all available, mostly en suite. Rooms at the rear will be quietest.

Stopped for a night on the way to the ferry at Holyhead. Nice B&B run by Les and Rita, lovely people, really helpful including giving me a lift to the garage to pick up a new battery when my motorcycle wouldn't start in the morning. Warm and comfortable with a great local pub nearby if you fancy a pint and a good breakfast to start the day. I'll stay there again.

Have just returned from a lovely week's stay at Y Garth. Les and Rita were very friendly and always on hand if you had any problems. The rooms were clean, tidy and spacious, the breakfasts very enjoyable. The bathroom was also kept well clean. It was also great to have a balcony outside my room. Thanks once again Les and Rita (or should I say Diolch). If ever I am in Bangor again I will be back!

Room Tip: Ask for Room 6 for want of a good balcony to sit out on in the evenings. Just mind the step as you...

We came to Bangor to visit my daughter who was finishing up a semster of a study abroad program at the University of Bangor. She had actually stayed at the Y Garth with other familiy members previous to our visit and recommended we stayed there as well. It turned out to be great advice as we enjoyed meeting Les and Rita (who treated my returning daughter like family). We stayed three nights and enjoyed using the Guest House as a hub to visit sites in Northern Wales. Breakfasts were delicious and filling, bathrooms were clean, beds were comfortable and evenings were quiet. Thank you Les and Rita for making our stay so enjoyable.
