“If you like brown it's okay”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2014

This place is a throwback to the 70's, everything is brown. On arrival no parking available, not a good start. It's split into two properties, I stayed in room 15 in the main building.accessible via two flights of narrow staircases so not really suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. Again the brown themed decor pervades with mould on the walls as an added hi-lite. Bathroom is adequate but again mould on the floor of the shower. Luckily I was only staying for one night otherwise I would have tried elsewhere. In it's favour the staff are friendly and the food was okay for the price and the view was good but I cannot honestly recommend it and I wouldn't stay there again unless the place was totally refurbished and more parking space available.

Room Tip: Avoid room 15 unless you like mould

After bailing out from Festival Number 6, we booked ourselves into Eryl Mor for one night before we headed off to Anglesey. On arrival, we were really tired and hungry (having had no sleep the night before as we tried to stop our tent blowing away!) so had a Sunday Roast and headed for a much needed afternoon nap. Couldn't fault the lunch - tasty, nicely cooked and lots of it and just what we needed. Our room had lots of space and was warm and clean but it just felt a little bit basic - it was absolutely fine for our one night stay, we slept well and had a nice hot shower and no complaints really, but I think I would have been disappointed if we had been staying longer. I think a few more homely touches and a bit of updating of furniture and fittings in our room, as well as sprucing up some of the public areas, would have pushed Eryl Mor into a good rather than average review. On the whole, good value for money, friendly and good location but, like we were, just a bit tired.

Daughters had a lovely, spacious, well appointed twin room- 8 - couldn't fault it. We had a pokey double with visible mould on wall and peeling paint - 15 - a shame. My husband wanted to give a 'poor' rating and my daughters a 'good' - hence 'average'. Breakfast ok - you can have what you want. Staff very friendly and helpful. Stairs very narrow. Lovely views from conservatory as you eat.

Large twin room overlooking the pier. Stayed for 2 nights and towels changed daily. Small TV was a disappointment but everything else made up for it. Delicious cooked breakfast and evening meal that was so huge that none of us could finish it - a first for our family!

Stayed here last minute due to family hospital emergency trauma and could not fault it. Sam on reception could not have been more kind, welcoming or helpful; the room had beautiful views over the waters of Menai and was spotlessly clean, bed comfy and shower piping hot. The breakfast was fine, coffee strong and again the staff friendly. For 40 quid a night including breakfast it's a bargain.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the front so you get an amazing view

I stayed two nights while exploring highlights of the coast of northwest Wales in a friend's car. Staff had high morale and all were helpful, so this Victorian/Edwardian building, while not de-luxe, is a welcoming place in a quiet area of town, giving good value for money. We enjoyed the huge view from a comfortable top-floor ensuite bedroom in the annexe, though it was not a place for anyone who struggles with stairs.
