Just returned from The Garden Hotel , enjoyed a one night stay in this very comfortable and welcoming hotel. My son and I travelled to Bangor on Friday night so that we could attend the University open day on Saturday. It was ideal after a long train journey, only across the road from the station. It was a dark, wet night and we were very happy to receive a warm welcome, have our bags carried upstairs to a very pleasant room and find a table ready for us in the cantonese restaurant attached to the hotel. The food was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable.
The hotel is well situated for both town and university, about ten minutes walk for both.
I will certainly use this hotel again should my son choose this university!

Easy walking distance for town, staff were very pleasant carried bag up stairs, acknowledged me when they saw me. Had a single room which felt quite spacious because of the layout, bathroom was small but functional. The hotel provided everything I needed room was clean and warm. It was handy having the restaurant down stairs, but there were several eating places within a short distance Dominoes, Weatherspoons, Indian, Chinese, Fish and Chip and Asda. Adequate for the short time I stayed

Excellent place to stay Thank you It was very well placed for travel and the Chinese restaurant was great . really nice people working there and seemed happy in their job which is always a good sign. Nice and cosy too as we were in a cold and wet snap and it was very cheery place to be after the dreariness of outside. We will stay here again if doing business back in Bangor.

Lovely warm welcome at the desk, even had people to carry our bags up which was well needed after a long journey.
Good atmosphere in hotel - very warming and comfy (home-like).
No room service but the staff will bring you what you need to the room.
Very clean overall - from the entrance to the bathroom.
Friendly and welcoming staff who take an interest in you as an individual customer - had a long chat with the manageress who gave me tips on travelling to Hong Kong.

Thank you for a lovely stay, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed it

Conveniently located close to the train station, Bangor Univ, and High Street. Very nice people at the desk and in the hotel. Food in the Chinese restaurant was satisfactory, breakfast also. Clean and comfortable room. We have stayed here before. We will probably return.

Room Tip: Street-side rooms are noisy.

The hotel was conveniently located near the rail station, and we were greeted very warmly upon arrival. Our room was very clean and there was plenty of space. Our stay was made enjoyable mainly by the people working there. We enjoyed talking to them, and their cheerfulness and helpfulness were refreshing. If there was one downside to the hotel, it was that the walls were fairly thin meaning we could hear other guests in their rooms. Thankfully, the other guests weren't too loud.
The restaurant downstairs was rather good. I don't have much experience with Cantonese cuisine, but I thought the food was quite good. It was on the expensive side, but that was not a problem since we were celebrating our anniversary a little early. Great experience all around, and we would definitely stay at the Garden Hotel if we are ever in Bangor again.

Room Tip: Probably better off the higher up you can go since there is a restaurant downstairs.

We stayed at the Garden Hotel for one night because it was near the rail station. It was ideally located for an early train departure to Holyhead in the morning and it had received good reviews on the tripadvisor site. We will be returning regardless of the time of our train departure. During five days in North Wales we did not encounter one unhelpful or discourteous person but our welcome at this little hotel was exceptional. The young woman who greeted us on arrival could give courses to people in the tourism and hospitality sector. She lifted our spirits with her friendly and cheerful reception and set us up for a very pleasant day.
We were not disappointed when we met the rest of the staff including the owner.
The food in the restaurant was wonderful. My wife is not a great fan of Chinese food but she enjoyed her meal. I had my best Chinese meal ever. I think it was called Prawn Delight, a specialty of the chef. I am already looking forward to it when we visit again. Everybody connected with this hotel and restaurant deserves continued success.
