Found right on the main road along the coast in Wales and was please to find a place to stay. An interesting and charming gentleman owner was very nice and helpful. A great place to stay to explore Caernarfon Castle which is only a short drive. The rooms are nothing special but clean and everything you need, including a free breakfast.

A simple place to stay, a bit stuffy and need vacuum cleaning and painting, it should be totally be refurbished inj my eyes. The room was big, the bed was huge but the matrass sagging on both sides so if you dont hold on to each other or lay in the middle you tend to roll off the bed. The springs are squeeking everytime you move.

Sorry if our vacuuming quality control inspection on the day wasn't up to the mark. Please email us which room you were in so we can figure out which is the squeaky mattress? We've had no other reports. Painting and refurbishing never stops here! Maybe that is why some areas are not as fresh as we would really like too. Thank you for your review.

We stayed at Menai Bank Hotel for three nights because it offered all the things we
wanted in our accommodation. We were met by Rachel who cheerfully told us to leave our car in the drive if no spaces were available in the parking area. Although the car park was frequently full it never caused a problem.
We had booked a large room with sea views and were not disappointed. Our bed was large and comfortable and the views to the straits were excellent. We could sit in the window on the two comfortable chairs and enjoy the view. The room was spacious with a wardrobe, drawers and a little entryway. Although it faced the main road above a busy roundabout it was quiet due to the double-glazed window.
The bathroom was large with a good shower although you often had to run the shower for a while to get hot water.  The towels were very clean if a little worn, but very acceptable for the rate paid.
Breakfast was a lovely combination of self serve fruit and cereal with hot dishes made to order served by the very efficient Patrick. The mushroom omelet was delicious and something different to the food usually offered. Making your own toast and a cappuccino machine meant the toast and coffee were fresh and hot when you wanted them.
The hotel was opposite a supermarket if you just wanted a snack or many cafes and restaurants were a short walk away. The Black Boy Inn was particularly good.
Caernarfon Castle was definitely worth visiting and a drive around Snowdonia was an excellent day trip.  From here it is less than an hour's drive to Holyhead to catch the ferry to Ireland.
A great stay.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a larger room with sea views.

We needed a place to beak our journey en route to the Holyhead ferry. This was an ideal stopping off point just 30/40 minutes easy driving next morning. The hotel is situated opposite Morrisons and not off the main road through Caernarfon for Bangor. The bed was very comfortable, the room clean and a refreshment tray provided. Bath/shower, good breakfast, and a genial host. Good value for £60, and off road parking provided. We'd come here again on the way to or from the ferry.

Room Tip: room 12 was just up the stairs.

Arrived earlier than planned on 13th April to be greeted with a warm friendly welcome by Rachel. We were offered a room with a sea view and the biggest, most comfortable bed ever!!! (Room 22) The room was warm, clean and quite large with plenty of space. We met Patrick on our way out for the afternoon and he was most friendly and welcoming. Breakfast the following morning was fantastic, given a good choice of cereals, fruits, teas, coffee and, followed by a full English which was excellent complete with black pudding :) Not only was Patrick around to serve you but nothing was too much trouble and had a very pleasant chat about the surrounding area and places of interest. He always asked when he saw you if you had had a good day. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Caernarfon to stay here. A gem of a hotel. Thank you again to Patrick and Rachel for a very pleasant weekend, Jeanette & Tony
