A perfect short stay; will certainly visit again. Extraordinary value for money. Delightful hosts and an immaculate house.
It is very convenient for Caernarvon and also for Anglesey. The hosts are charming and informative and clearly enjoy making their guests feel at home. Breakfasts (including vegetarian) were substantial and first class.

Richard and Sylvette are fantastic hosts; very friendly and welcoming and full of advice on things to do. We took our bikes to cycle on Anglesey and were able to lock them in their garage when we were not using them. This is a great base for exploring North Wales (our highlights were Plas Newydd, Caernarfon Castle, Penrhyn Castle, Welsh Highland Railway, Ffestiniog Railway, walking up Snowdon and round Beddgelert along Aberglaslyn Pass, Conwy (Plas Mawr, in particular). We really appreciated being given an old newspaper to stuff in our wet boots and an extra packet of (3) biscuits waiting for us after we walked up Snowdon!

For breakfast you help yourself to: preprepared fresh fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, peaches, etc), adding natural yogurt if you like; a range of cereals; and home-made marmalade and jams, or chocolate spread or honey for your toast. A full cooked breakfast is also available (compulsory if you are planning to walk up Snowdon)!

We stayed for a week in Room 1, which has a really nice modern en-suite with a good-sized, warm and powerful shower. Toiletries were provided in normal sized bottles. Some of the other rooms have a view over the Menai straits, but we went for Room 1 because of the ensuite. Have a look on their website for photos of all the rooms. There is also a little snug just of the landing where we enjoyed a hot chocolate and played a couple of games whilst watching the sun set over the Menai straits.

We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Look on their website to help you choose.

Booked the B&B a couple of days before we were due to arrive. The house is in a beautiful position overlooking the Menai Strait. We were the only guests staying there that night so it felt like we had the whole house to ourselves. We were lucky to have room 4 which is a double en suite overlooking the water. The room was quite large and had plenty of tea and coffee making facilities.Had a great nights sleep and had a lovely breakfast in the morning. The guest house is only about 2 mins by car into Caernarfon. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 4 at the front of the house. Great view.

This B&B was comfortable, clean with a friendly and helpful host. Our bedroom at the rear was small but quiet and comfortable. En-suite was excellent, new and well designed, with a warm powerful shower. There was no bath. "Proper" toiletries rather than the small generic Guest House type.

Room Tip: Front rooms are larger with with an excellent view over the Menai Straits but face the main road whi...

Wonderful hosts, beautiful home, excellent breakfast all in a lovely location. We will certainly be returning. Sylvette helped us numerous times with ideas what we could do as it wasn't safe to walk snowden due to the weather. Both Richard and Sylvette are very approachable and made our stay very comfortable.

My 12 year old Son and I were taking a two night three day road trip to explore Wales and the nearby castles. Our accommodation was perfect. We chose room three, a twin bedded, light and airy room overlooking the Menai Strait, Sylvette and Richard are wonderful hosts and made us very welcome. We wanted for nothing and they gave us some great tips on how to make the most of our brief trip. The breakfast was superb in respect of quality, variation and quantity. We will go back to explore Wales further. Tal Menai provides a great base for lots of activities.

Room Tip: Look at their website and choose. We liked our room. We had carte blanche. No photo - see website...

My Dad and I were having a road trip and Caernarfon was our last stop: Too bad it didn't last longer! Our room was lovely, the breakfast was huge and we also got gorgeous fresh raspberries! They made our breakfast even better! The view was absolutely charming and we did have a very nice stay. We would definitely go back again!
