Owner description: After all these years Caernarfon’s immense strength remains undimmed. A brute of a fortress. Caernarfon Castle’s pumped-up appearance is unashamedly muscle-bound and intimidating. Picking a fight with this massive structure would have been a daunting prospect. By throwing his weight around in stone, King Edward I created what is surely one of the most impressive of Wales’s castles. Worthy of World Heritage status no less.

Worth a look around this lovely place. The military museum is good and has tons of information. And the area dedicated to the investiture of the Prince of Wales was really good. Worth the money in my view.

Visited Caernarfon with my sister and sons aged 13 and 14 although we enjoyed the visit the boys became a bit bored after a couple of hours. We were lucky to get a sunny day which added to the experience. Lots of stairs and not enough information in the different parts of the castle telling visitors what the rooms were originally used for. One had to spend more money on a brochure to get any info when we would have preferred to have paid more into the Castle and had audio headphones like they do at most other large castles. Too much attention devoted to Welsh military history for us and not enough about the castle.

This is a amazing castle the children loved every minute. It's been well looked after lots to see. Esp loved the royal welsh fusiliers museum. My only concern and to be honest it's the only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars was the safety for children. ITS VERY UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN. I think more should be spent securing the holes and gaps in the castle walls. My heart was in my mouth most of our visit, I would hate for a little one to fall through, even if it was just netted up just for parents peace of mind. Apart from that great day out.

This is a well preserved castle which the kids in the party (2, 5, 6) really enjoyed. It was reasonably priced for a couple of hours of fun and imagination.

This attraction would be great if there was more being done to really bring the castle to life e.g. Some actors in medieval dress, traditional entertainment, quiz/treasure hunt for the kids.

Working in industry I was also amazed that more hasn't been / has been required to be done to make the place safer for children. There are areas where small children can fall from significant heights that just wouldn't be acceptable in the workplace let alone a tourist attraction for families!

To anyone who likes castles the Edwardian Castles of North Wales are a MUST. Caernarfon is different because it was built not only to subjugate the Welsh but as a Royal Palace and its hexagonal? towers give it a unique and charming air in an absolutely wonderful setting with the river and bay.Once visited you'll want to return. A special request to Heritage for Wales would be to have some guide material in Spanish and other languages.
