Booked last minute, for two nights, so as to meet up with family members on Anglesey. A lovely hotel, very clean and well kept all round. Very competent staff and good choice of breakfast items. Had a singer as in house entertainment on one of our nights which was lovely. Very pleasant public bar/bistro area and lounges and excellent gym/pool areas. Would recommend highly and would definitely visit again.

Room Tip: A little noisy in the front rooms of the hotel - recommend rear rooms.

Wonderful entrance hall and staircase
Friendly staff
Lovelly pool though a little crowded, great buffet breakfast, rooms clean and comfortable but a little small especially the en-suit bathroom.
Close enough to the new marina and the Castle

It's always difficult trying to find a hotel of high standards in north Wales and this was on a recommendation, we were pleasantly surprised with the Celtic Royal. It's a hotel with lots of character with a lovely reception area and lounges. The restaurant was elegantly decorated. The bedrooms a little on the small side but clean & comfortable. Food was good for breakfast and an excellent chioce of restaurant or Bistro. We ate in the Bistro both nights, the food was absolutely delicious and excellent value. Hotel is situated close to the marina area and also the castle. It was a great base for lots of other places to visit, such as snowdonia and a number of lovely beaches. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the overall standard was very good, would highly recommend. Lots of car parking!

The hotel has an understated elegance. The decor suits the style of the building, the staff are friendly and welcoming and its position is perfect for a walk round Caernarfon. The Docks are a 2 minute walk away with three lovely restaurants over looking them. The Castle is a 5 minute walk away and is a lovely walk through the town.

The breakfast was lovely, the hot food is buffet style so you can help yourself, again over the breakfast service the staff were lovely to us, however we did overhear one table say they hadn't been offered tea/coffee or toast when they were first seated.

The rooms are comfortable and clean, our shower had slight drainage issues and we had to turn the shower off to let it drain mid shower to prevent flooding.

The spa is very nice, and the gym is well equipped (i saw it through the window) However there were some very busy periods with children so be mindful if you are looking for peace and quiet in the spa area you may not get it.

I would recommend this hotel, its warm and inviting.

Stayed at the Celtic Royal for three nights, The building is very beautiful, rooms are a little dated, with small flatscreen tv's and no DVDs, and no Bath in the bathroom,
Very friendly staff, And happy to help, and the food and menu was exceptional,
I would stay again as it was reasonably priced.
