“A grand hotel in a grand location - 5 minutes walk to the Castle”
Reviewed 15 August 2013 via mobile

This grand hotel caters for both individual travelers and tour buses but is large enough to accommodate both at once. The rooms are spacious with large and recently upgraded bathrooms. The hotel has a great indoor swimming pool. The lounges, dining room and bar areas are all well appointed with comfy leather seats and couches. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast too was first rate. My only criticism was the cramped and dysfunctional layout of the breakfast bars - a little thought re logistics could improve the flow immensely.

Went recently with family. A lovely reception area, with staff who provided a friendly welcome. We stopped off for lunch and found a lovely menu - plenty of choice, including special boards. Well priced and the food was great quality.

As they were expecting a wedding party, they kindly offered us a quieter location and were really pleased with the food when it came. Portion sizes were excellent and every one enjoyed their meal.

Would definitely stop off here again.

This hotel has it all, nice rooms, pool, fitness center and very good meals, both for breakfast and dinner. But the service really stands out - from the waitstaff to the maids and those at the front desk, every question was answered, there was nothing they would not do for us. And, it is right across the street from a small grocery store for snacks and drinks. Great stay.

I stayed here for one night when visiting Bangor University. It was a bargain price room that I got late - I think it cost £55 for B&B and that was for 2! The hotel looks and feels historic and impressive. The room was absolutely spotlessly clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. Options of full cooked breakfast, cereals, toast, yogurts, tea, coffee, juice etc. Bathroom was very nice and clean with a lovely shower. The hotel even has an indoor swimming pool for your use and offers bar and restaurant meals. We arrived quite late in the evening and wanted some food in the bar but the bar meals had finished. The staff were so helpful, they allowed us to sit in the very nice restaurant (which is where you have breakfast) and still order bar food. Would definitely go back to this hotel if staying in that part of Wales again. Not far from Bangor at all.

A great stay after being overbooked at the Royal Victoria in Llanberis, and to be honest we are glad we did, although supposedly the same grade as the Royal Victoria Hotel, they are worlds apart. The Hotel was clean, staffed professionally and looked impressive when you got in there. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and the bed..COMFORTABLE! We cannot complain about this place, perfectly located, just a short walk from the town centre, all in all a lovely stay.

A 4 night stay at the Celtic Royal Hotel, 2 adults and 2 kids was excellent from start to finish, the accommodation was spacious and comfortable, the food was second to none, the leisure facilities were spotless. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the kids didn't want to come home. We normally holiday in hotels/B&Bs and have stayed in 4 star accommodation which didn't meet the high standards of the Celtic Royal. It is also in a great location, half an hour from Holyhead yet close enough to many other interesting places, 4 very enjoyable days.
