The hotel is very nice, bit odd having to put a bit of paper in your car (surely giving car registration at check in should be enough) especially as they got our dates wrong on the piece of paper.
The restaurant was busy (14th Feb so kinda expected) so couldn't be seated til 8.45 and would say the server was inexperienced didn't seem to know entirely what he was doing.
I must say the food was great at dinner and at the breakfasts (however toast took ages to arrive or was cold most morning :-( otherwise a good selection)
The room was a let down very small, opening the door onto the bed and having a dressing table right by the door isn't a good layout, the bed is a standard double which seems small as most hotels seem to have larger bed nowadays (Very clean hotel although the cleaners often didn't make it to our room till 5pm)
I think calling it a spa is pushing it however the pool, steam room, sauna and small gym were all well maintained, clean and enjoyable.

Room was okay beds could be batter. Convenient to travel around in snowdonia as it's in the middle of the town. Good service.friendly staff. Yummy full english breakfast. Help full and polite staff. Bit expensive.

Central location, free parking, clean and tidy with very attentive staff. Food was excellent! Great value too with everything your would expect from a £200 a night hotel.
A few improvements / suggestions -the spa was great but water cold and the quilt far too heavy but overall would definitely recommend

What a little gem of a hotel and so much more personal than the nearby premier inn/ travelodge ( who don't have off st parking ) I would def say 4 star not 3 star. Dinner great, service 5*, very accommodating to my veggie diet - they have a separate veggie menu but made me a starter which wasn't in it which was yummy mushrooms and aioli . Breakfast a little slow and like dinner, for some reason, even though it was not busy, staff insisted in seating everyone like sardines in one area leaving the other area empty. Please note - customers like privacy and space, don't squash then up to safe staff the effort if walking between tables!!

I was staying for a funeral and asked for a quiet room which I got , staff were very considerate . Rooms spotlessly clean , wide corridors . Pool small, but no kids in evening, which is a big big big positive, great gym loads of good quality equipment and air con, nice steam and sauna . All represented great value for money .

On a neg front, hair dryers useless for ladies with long hair. More importantly the beds were very very hard. I read this on trip advisor beforehand so when booking I asked for a soft bed, which didn't seen to be a problem on the phone. However , when I got to the room and bed was hard, it seemed there were no softer beds. They did show me another room, but all the beds were as rock hard as each other. When will hotels learn, men can sleep on hard beds as they have no curves, women can't . I asked for a mattress topper, they didn't have one , instead I got two extra duvets to sleep on. This was 'ok', but my sleep was still disturbed. I would def recommend that the Celtic royal invest in some great big thick mattress toppers that they can use when a customer needs a softer bed. I still have hip pain now 4 days after staying.
If it wasn't for this I would be giving the hotel 5* rating. I would love to return , but not till I can get a softer bed!
Thank you to all the staff who went out of their way to offer sympathy towards me at this sad time.

We have just come back from a 3 night stay on a coach trip. The hotel is lovely and cosy, nice lounges to sit comfortably. The food was lovely also had a real bargain. Would advise people to stay there, the only down fall was that the bed was a little uncomfortable could do with a mattress topper and mattress cover. The staff were also very friendly anything you wanted was not too much! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Stayed here for one night in January 2014. Staff were very friendly, let me leave my car in the car park early in the morning on arrival. Food was good but no proper beer in the bar which was a shame seeing as there are plenty of local real ale breweries locally. Bed was really comfy and I had a good nights sleep which is unusual for me in hotels. breakfast was standard hotel fare. I'd be happy to go back, which I will.

We have just arrived back from a 3 night stay at the Celtic Royal Hotel in Caernarfon. We booked the hotel using Holiday Plus vouchers which meant we had to pay for breakfast and evening meal, which at a cost of £30 pp per day was a bargain.
The stay was lovely and comfortable with a spotless clean room, The onsite leisure club was useful as there is not much to do in Caernarfon if the weather is not too good, however a nice swim, sauna, steam and chill out in the spa pool was just the ticket.
The food in the restaurant was brilliant with a good selection for choice.
This hotel is a good base if you want somewhere to travel around from; we went to Llanberis and Llandudno, A very pleasant stay was had by us and the staff were all very pleasant.
If I could make one suggestion it would be to have some entertainment each night in the bar - there was a singer on on the Sunday night which was nice - this would help to keep guests in the hotel rather than them going out to other bars in the town looking for entertainment.

Room Tip: Room 235 was at the end of the corridor on the second floor at the side of the hotel, we could see t...
