Stayed with my elderly mother in May and were given the 'accessible' rooms in the courtyard wing. Very suitable, easy to use with small kitchens and easy facilities.
Great bar with good beer for me, good restaurant for us both.

Some really good fish. Mother had a Dover Sole and said it was one of the best she has had. Great location for exploring the town and visiting the harbour and the railway.

Room Tip: The courtyard rooms are quiet.

We ate at this hotel at lunchtime on a Saturday. The staff were really helpful and polite, the ambience in the restaurant was lovely. The best part was the food, I can not praise it enough, yum, yum, yum. We were so full we could not manage a desert, but we would definitely return and would recommend this restaurant to all our friends and family.

We were looking for a an eatery not showing the World Cup final and stumbled across this diamond of a pub tucked away within the castle walls. Try the 'lobscows' a traditional welsh stew.
Excellent service and food.

Stayed for one night with my wife whilst on business. What an absolute fantastic establishment from the moment we checked in (our room was in the annexe about a ten second walk from the main building, were given the private car park code (fantastic as parking is at a premium in Caernarfon), shown to our room and was it beautiful. A four poster bed, all clean and tidy, kitchenette was spotless and full of all the mod cons should they be required, shower/bathroom spotless and gleaming. Brilliant T.V in the room along with free inclusive wifi (again the code was given out to us upon arrival). We then went downstairs(where we were met by freindly helpful bar staff) and sampled the delights of the bar. The menu was great although we had already eaten. In the morning we went down for breakfast nice and early after being advised by the bar staff that was the thing to do as the breakfast is coked to order. Full welsh breakfast, freshly cooked along with cereals, toast, yoghurts etc with tea and coffee. All the staff were really great and friendly wether bar staff, the girls at breakfast, the girls who make the rooms up, the cleaners, the maintenance guy etc, all top notch. Checking out I met John , very professional, friendly and again, nothing too much trouble. We have already recommended to family, friends and work collegues should they be in the area. Will definitely be staying again Thank you John and your staff for a delightful stay. One tiny tip to fellow travellers, as the hotel is by the bay/sea, the gulls can be noisy so and so's, take some ear plugs if you like your window open of a night...:-) .

Room Tip: Four poster room is fantastic and worth every penny.

Great rooms, perfect location, lovely staff, a little wait for a table for dinner but that only proves how popular this place is so was more than happy and was well worth the wait as the food was fantastic! As was breakfast! Cannot recommend enough, thank you all at the black boy inn for a perfect stay.

The point of the wait because of the popularity of the Inn , is a wonderful point .This iis very much the story of the Inn ,it is difficult to walk in and get a table at peak hours ,when this does not happen i would be concerned we have got it all wrong.Thank you so much for the review.

We walked past The Black Boy while staying in Caernarfon and it looked very appealing, a quick check on Trip Advisor and it looked like a great place to visit for a meal. We had a quality meal on a busy Sunday night, but it was the World Cup final so maybe that so why it was so busy, managed to eat and leave before the match started. I had the 10 oz steak with a Welsh rarebit topping, with chips, veg & bacon sauce- Delicious. A good range of beers and good prices with friendly staff. We will return

We stayed at the Black Boy for four nights last week and have nothing but praise for the Inn. we had a room in the newly completed Ty Dre annex and it was literally a home from home! clean, comfortable and well equiped yet only a few yards from the main Inn. All the staff were welcoming and cheerful and breakfast and evening dinner a pure joy! neither of us have visited Wales for many years but the Balck Boy beckons us to return as soon as possible.
