Very good and free as it is in the castle. Well worth a look even if not a military type as these guys seem to have been in every scrape this country has committed to.

Really interesting museum with lots of historical materials, loads & loads of medals, uniforms, guns/swords etc illustrating the history of the regiment from 17th century to today. Great sections on WW1, Boer War, India, Crimea (very topical!) US War of Independence and the 7 Years War with France etc and interesting letters and military ephemera etc as well.
All in a few rooms in some of the towers at the Castle - bit of a climb up stone steps, and some stairs inside as well, but its FREE to enter (as you pay for the Castle entry anyway) but worth getting the guide for £2 (bit tucked away in the corner of the first room with the AV display!) Well worth a donation we thought.

Set within the castle, not easily accessible to disabled due to the many stairs needed to climb to get to different areas.
This museum however is well worth a visit and has interesting and informative displays.

the royal welch are the oldest regiment in wales, and the museum is located inside Caernarfon castle. you have to climb quite a few steps to get to it, but it is worth it when you get there. admission into the museum is included in the admission price into the castle. the history of the r.w.f. is well documented, and is well worth a visit.

A well presented museum which contains examples of medals, uniforms and other militaria dating back to the beginning of this Regiment. Placed in part of Caernarfon Castle.
Excellent information is presented on each of the display cases. A well stocked shop with knowledgeable assistants at the end of the tour.
A good place to visit whether the weather is wet or dry.
