This has been a good comfort spot in the past. Although I haven't been there in 6 months or so, it had been really good quite consistently. It's not the type of place to splash on an exotic evening out, but a good stop for a bite. Service was at times slow (no fault of the waitresses, but rather than they looked understaffed). Definitely worth a try. Sunday roasts are good

Booked for one night and asked for a quiet room. The room fronted onto the A40 and traffic was continuous until after 11pm and then started again before 6am. As the room was hot, I opened the sash window which nearly fell out and had no means of holding it up, but it didn't matter as the noise of the traffic was too loud to sleep whether the window was open or shut. Everything else about the hotel was fine with a well cooked breakfast and a decent room for the price.

Room Tip: Be firm if you request a quiet room and ask for an alternative if you are given one fronting onto the A40.

We booked an overnight through Booking .com as part of a trip down through Central Wales on our way through to Bristol.
The Hotel, which is a pub/restaurant with rooms, is well located on the outskirts and particularly suited if travelling through like us.
Rooms are separately located at the rear in converted outbuildings and residents are not troubled by the activities of the pub/restaurant.
The rooms are huge offering sitting and sleeping space and are well appointed with excellent beds. the ensuite bathroom is well appointed and of good quality.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. A problem with the Wi-Fi in the room was resolved immediately. (It needed re-booting).
Quality of the evening meal was good and value for money and the breakfast choice was excellent. Some latecomers were accommodated with a smile despite the breakfast service technically being over.
All together a great value for money stay.

Dropped in for a late lunch and was impressed with the range and quality of the food. Excellent choice of food from the main menu (see photo) as well as a special deal of two courses for £10.95 from a smaller menu. Food was prepared quickly and tasted fantastic. Very large hotel/pub with lots of dining space both inside and out. Large garden suitable for those travelling with a dog. Range of real ales available from Brains Brewery.

We stayed here for 3 nights and were very impressed with the large double bedroom we were given with a lovely en-suite. The breakfast included with the room was ok, they bought my boyfriend hash browns when they were not not on the breakfast menu. We had dinner in the restaurant twice, one was the most amazing steak and experience was first rate. The second night my boyfriend had a steak again and the whole thing was totally over cooked and the food and service was really slow
