AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless you like being shafted!

Dick Turpin in disguise!!! To be robbed on the highway, understandable, in his restaurant, no!! (I have taken a while to post this we ate last year)

It's simple this place is a joke, I have recently eaten at IKEA and for £4.50 you can eat as tasty a meal as STEPHEN TERRY'S extremely overprices meals. Weatherspoon's is another example of 2 meals for £12 that are as good as the meals we ate at this place. I am not exaggerating it was appalling, expensive, tasteless, below bog standard stuff!

Steak n FROZEN Chips! Very, very miserable looking steak, half a tomato, dry mushroom and tasteless truffle butter all for £32.

How does he get away with it, maybe he can cook, (he was in the kitchen this day) but there was no sign of any flare in any of our 5 meals.

All drinks were very expensive too!!!

Window table for two with a view of the valleys and hills shrouded at times in rolling mist. The three course lunch was superb with every dish a little bit different to what one might expect - in a good way. A feast for the eyes as well as the stomach! Recommended.

We called in to the Hardwick for lunch by chance as we were passing. It was a Monday so very quiet but we received a warm welcome. The lunch menu was good and we thought that the food was very good. I wouldn't describe it as fine dining but definitely very good quality comfort food!
We'll certainly call in again when in the area.
