“Wonderful location, comfy cottage.”
Reviewed 11 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We had lovely weather that added to the amazing views and pretty garden. The Black Mountains and Usk Valley are beautiful, Abergavenny and surround towns good to visit. As Wimbledon was on we spent more time than usual indoors in the evening catching up with the day's play, so we were very grateful for the amenities in the cottage, with a charming kitchen, great connection to Sky, wi-if and comfy chairs. During the day there was so much to see and do that we have to come back - 3 days were certainly not enough.
Sue was a charming and interesting host- do go to see her daughter' s bookshop in Crickhowell- Bookish, we popped in on our last day and loved it. Thank you Sue and Tony, see you in early Summer 2016 if our plans work out!

“Lovely cottage in perfect location”

Peaceful rural location yet all amenities within very short drive. Set in beautiful countryside surrounded by Sue & Tony's lovely garden. The location is ideal for visiting the Brecon Beacons or walking straight from the front door. The cottage is clean, comfortable & well equipped for self catering. We will be back!

“Lovely cottage”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

What a little gem! We had a lovely time staying here for a week in May. The cottage is cozy and has everything one would need. It is very quiet and has expansive and well kept grounds around it. We left completely relaxed. Sue and Tony are great hosts. We hope to be back one day.

I would agree with all the positive reviews already on Trip Advisor, both about the location, the cottage & gardens and Sue's friendliness & welcome. I didn't realise from reviews how there is a safe walk a few hundred metres down the private lane to reach the canal towpath and an easy walk to a couple of pubs.

“Wonderful home from home in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed 9 May 2015 for a stay in January 2015

I stayed here to take advantage of some of the walks in the area and get the peace and quiet not always available in hotels (which are also relatively expensive). Llanwenarth Cottage is a real gem. Nestled in the beautiful Welsh countryside it has everything you need - including Sky TV and Wi-fi. It is set in beautiful gardens which the owners Sue and Tony are more than happy to let you explore, and if you travel with children (who can easily be accommodated in the super-king bed and the single) they will have adventure after adventure. It's perfect for grown ups too - tranquil and relaxing if you want it, but close to Abergavenny and Crickhowell if you want to mooch about, or the Brecon Beacons if you want to venture out into the stunning Welsh countryside. City life in Cardiff is also only 45 minutes away by car or train should you fancy more hustle and bustle.

The property is spotlessly clean and the Welsh cakes on arrival (homemade by Sue) are a lovely touch and just what you need with your first cup of tea when you arrive. I can't recommend this home from home idyll enough.

“Our favorite stay during our 6 week vacation”
Reviewed 8 May 2015 for a stay in March 2015

My husband and I had a relaxing and comfortable stay in the cottage for 3 nights while exploring an area of Wales where my ancestors lived. The cottage was private and well equipped, and more than met our needs during our stay. Sue is a kind and gracious hostess and has thought of everything so cottage guests are worry-free. We walked twice along the canal, despite light rain, to Govilon for dinner, it was just what we needed. (Tip: The Lion is closed Mon/Tues.) When you're in the area, don't miss the tour at The Big Pit National Coal Museum. Truly, everything about our stay was just right, and we hope to be back again next visit!

“Fabulous place to stay.”
Reviewed 24 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Stayed for a couple of nights in this lovely cottage. Received a warm welcome on arrival from Sue and Tony. The cottage had all the home comforts you could think of, sky TV, fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds - oh and not forgetting the lovely welsh cakes, freshly baked by Sue, for us to have with a cup of tea on arrival. The huge garden area has numerous places to sit out and relax. For a peaceful, relaxing break, this is the place to stay. Close by is Abergavenny, the Brecon Beacons and the lovely village of Crickhowell. One of the nicest places I have stayed in.
