My disabled wife and I booked here via telephone and boasting disabled facilities, we were allocated a plot close to the toilet block. A quiet adult only site BUT!!!....
Reception (in the golf club) was very formal and not particularly welcoming
The disabled wet room (without toilet) was out of order and had been for 2 weeks - they didn't bother to tell us.
When in use, the wet room, along with the other toilet/ shower cubicles, had no grab rails and no seat.
The paths/ driveways are raw, rough and uneven - difficult for those with mobility issues.
Rubbish bins are by the site gate - some distance from the plot.
When the site owner was challenged on these things, she was rude - suggesting she refund us and we leave.
There is no on site Wifi.

Perhaps if they had been honest with us about their disabled facilities, we could have made an informed choice about the site, but they didn't. I'm sure its great for able bodied, as other reviews suggest, but NOT for the disabled.

I'm so glad she suggested we left - we did and were warmly welcomed at the most outstanding, clean and well resourced site we ever found- Pont Kemy campsite just a few miles away. It has won numerous awards, is 5 star and cost only £1 more than the horrendous site at Wernddu. If wanting to camp near Abergavenny - go to Pont Kemy, you wont regret it.

I must say from the off that I have given a 5 star rating to this site because of its friendliness, golf course on site, great value for money plus adults only.
Just outside Abergaveny within close proximity to many countryside attractions. The site is quiet and benefits from huge pitches which are private with hedges between. They have their own water supply and grey water drainage plus electric. Shower block is more than adequate.
We would love to see some improvements there which would make the place exceptional, I won't list them as it could be misconstrued as complaint or disatisfaction. Let's say a spruce up and attention to detail could benefit the grounds, site and club house.
Not many campsites have their own golf course and pitch and put, the main corse is certainly worth playing and by no means a poor relation to the whole venture. I played it twice in 4 days and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, not flat but great use of the terrain has been made by the designers.
Bar prices at the clubhouse including the food are very reasonable and good pub type food on offer including various cooked breakfast items.
Three sisters who run the day to day service which includes, the bar, food, golf and campsite are a credit to their family who own the golf/campsite.
We have now added this place to our sites to return to in the future.
Free good wifi at the clubhouse but not the campsite which would be a great introduction as EE phone and data coverage is very patchy to say the least.

Thanks and see you again soon.

I have just spent two nights at this camp site and would heartily recommend it to anyone . It is adult only and dog friendly. The views of the surrounding mountains are stunning and the site and its facilities are A1 ! The owners are so friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again.

We really like this campsite. This is our second visit. The camping field (non electric) allows you to choose where you pitch and it is near to the toilet/shower facilities and washing up area. The facilities are cleaned very regularly and ample for the amount of campers (even in peak season/bank holidays). The cubicles give you a toilet, sink and shower all in one and there is plenty of space for changing and hooks for hanging clothes/towels. There is a laundry room if you need it but we didn't use this. The campsite is alongside a road which you can hear during the day but it didn't disturb us at night when passing traffic was minimal. There is a clubhouse which serves food and drinks, we didn't use it as we cooked or ate out.

The site is in a good location for nearby attractions - Big Pit, Abergavenny Castle and Museum, Raglan Castle, Skenfrith Castle, we also ventured down towards Newport to see a National Trust property and the town of Caerleon. Also plenty of walks nearby and good places to eat in and around Abergavenny.

The only negative comment I can make is that I wish there was a hairdryer, or sockets for one, for those colder days!

The best part about this campsite is that it is adult only and the majority of the campers were very quiet and did disturb us.

Yet another relaxing motor-home holiday in this lovely adults only campsite. The welcome was as warm as ever, the views and dog walks as interesting, too. This time, however, we were able to enjoy the superb Sunday lunch! We were also pleased to be able to eat in the bar so that our two dogs could be with us. The locally sourced Welsh beef was as good as we have been served anywhere .....succulent, tasty and very tender. Indeed, the whole meal was piping hot and very tasty. You don't have to camp here to book for Sunday lunch...... And we would whole-heatedly recommend it

Room Tip: As it is a camp site, you bring your own room!
