My boyfriend and I stayed at the foxhunter for our year anniversary and I have to say its been an amazing experience - I can't wait to return!
We stayed in the old stable cottage. It was cosy and comfortable, well furnished and very welcoming. I loved the DIY breakfast - there was a fridge stocked with breakfast items on arrival. All the food was excellent quality and the flexibility of cooking breakfast yourself was great
Owners Matt & Lisa were simply delightful. Very friendly, they made us feel right at home. Lisa was happy to provide lots of recommendations on local walks and places to visit as well as titbits of local knowledge. The surrounding scenery is beautiful so make sure you come equipped with walking boots / wellies. Matt even signed a copy of his cookbook for us!
The food at the foxhunter simply blew us away - some of the best food I've had in a long time. Prices aren't cheap - you're looking at £20-£30 per main course however as a special treat this is absolutely worth it. Beautifully cooked, wonderful flavours and local, seasonal produce. Make sure you go for a walk in the daytime to build up an appetite - this food really is fantastic.
I simply can't fault the foxhunter - it was perfect from start to finishMore
