“Amazing unique venue”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2014

Stayed here in August 2014 and loved it. This place is very animal friendly and the rear patio has Chickens, Ducks, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and much more. I fell in love with the cats and Parrots. Our eggs at breakfast were collected 5 mins before we ate them. Breakfast with the gorgeous Jenny, quick witted and so caring is better than a west end show and the whole thing was fantastic. The food amazing one of the best breakfasts ever and only stops when you are satisfied. The flora around and inside the property is lovely. When I die I want to come back as one of Jenny's pussies. Kevin is a lovely chap, never stops.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms, which most are, are the quietest ones.

Jenny and Kevin, the owners invited you with smiles and laughter and this went on throughout our stay. Rooms were excellent and comfy with every extra you could think of. The breakfasts were more like a family gathering with all guests being given a great variety of options, some young guests actually were even taken to collect their own eggs from the chickens which I know they will treasure the memory of. All of these touches made the stay so memoriable and a lovely experience, we are looking at booking again at some point, just to visit the guesthouse :)

You could say this was the best place because the breakfasts were so good but I think this is the best place we have stayed at because the very friendly hosts, Jenny and Kevin are justifiably proud of their guest house and it shows. They go to great lengths to ensure you have a good time, the room was good and well kept, there were extra niceties such as bathroom supplies and bathrobes. Breakfast is a social event and there is so much choice, we stayed 7 nights and I strayed from the buffet and tried a couple of other items and I never left hungry. There is fresh fruit (we had strawberries, melon, fruit salad and something with berries), all the eggs are fresh from the hens in the garden, the buffet had plenty for everyone and all so well cooked. Every morning as we ate we were stared at by Socks, the hopeful cat - they have several cats who are all very well behaved and parrots as well as other critters out back. We never found the car park, which was reputedly a little tight, but we managed to park on the road every evening with no problems. We will be recommending this to everyone we know.

We stayed at The Guest House in May and thoroughly enjoyed our stay even with the mother-in-law. We were really well looked after and thought the breakfasts and entertainment were great. We will certainly be going again if we are allowed back and would recommend The Guest House to anyone. Thank you Jenny and Kevin.

After a long day of traveling, we received the warmest welcome from Jenny and Kevin. The room was immaculate and very comfortable, with everything we would need. The breakfast menu was well balanced and varied- we would highly recommend the fruit jelly and homemade jam! We ordered a packed lunch to take on our long walk, although we hardly needed it after the enormous breakfast. A thoroughly enjoyable stay with the most charming and accommodating hosts. :)

Room Tip: Blorenge room has the best view

We stayed at the guest house in June with my husband & 2 year old son. Jenny & Kevin made us feel very welcome & my son loved their pets! If you stay, you must try the fresh eggs & home made jam!
I would love to stay there again & already looking for when we can go!

Myself and a group of friends stayed at the Guest House for 1 night in July and were exceptionally pleased with what we got. Jenny & Kevin were very helpful booking taxi's for us before we arrived and moving Breakfast back as we were on a late night Ghost Night at the Skirrid Inn. The rooms were very nice and clean and the Breakfast was excellent - way above what we expected ! We were also treated to some great hospitality from Jenny at breakfast telling us stories that had us all in stitches. The town centre was just a short walk away and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to visit Abergavenny
