Just back from a three night break at the Castlebank. We have stayed here lots of times before and as usual it was perfect. Jo and Henrique are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is hearty and delicious, and we also ate in the restaurant on Saturday night which was fabulous. We would not hesitate to recommend to friends, as there's no nicer place to stay in Conwy. Hopefully see you soon when we'll be back with the boat!!!

My two friends and I stayed at the Castlebank Hotel this past weekend for the Conwy Half Marathon. We were delighted with our triple room which was absolutely great for us. Nothing was too much trouble for Jo and Henrique and we have nothing bad to say about our stay. All the previous positive reviews are correct. The hotel itself is lovely with a welcoming feel all of its own. Henrique's photos are fabulous and Jo's cooking top notch. We had to leave early on our final day to attend a funeral some miles away and Jo got up extra early to prepare us a cooked breakfast at 7am. We cannot thank her enough and set us up for the day. We will all be staying there again!

Room Tip: We had the triple room which was great for 3 friends (2 of whom shared a double bed - we are not fus...

Three of us decided to head on to North Wales and Snowdonia after a short stay in Chester. Thank goodness for Tripadvisor for leading us to Castlebank Hotel! Jo and Henrique couldn't be any warmer and friendlier! My friend stayed in a cozy, quaint single occupancy double bedroom, while my jaw just about dropped when Henrique told us that he upgraded our room from a double to a king-sized bed with amazing views of the town wall, the castle, and estuary! Even though we only stayed for a night, we felt very much at home (we were in our jammies in the living room enjoying red wine, classical music, and heat from the fireplace!) Make sure to take advantage of the homemade breakfast. It was very filling and set us out nicely onto the town. Also check out Henrique's photography - the man is gifted!

We were made to feel so welcome, even with a late arrival we were given the full tour and the royal treatment. The location is great just out side the wall. They sent us to a fine restaurant that night. We were a bit late getting down for breakfast and the owner fixed us a Made to order breakfast that was the best breakfast we had on the whole 10 day vacation. They held our luggage after we checked out, which allowed us one more walk around the wall of the city. Beautiful setting, nice friendly people. This will be my first choice to stay if we come back to Conwy. Thank you.

what can i say about this hotel.....well i will start with the lovely warm welcome we received on arrival. the couple who own the hotel are so friendly and personable and nothing is too much trouble for them. the hotel is so nice with an eclectic mix of new and old....the bedrooms are so comfortable with a king size bed in each room...each room also has en-suite and tea/coffee and tv...the food was to die for...so beautifully cooked and presented. my friends and i had the run of the hotel for two days for an event and henrique and jo who own it were perfect hosts. i would highly recommend you check this hotel out before booking somewhere else and finding yourself disappointed. there are plenty of places to visit within easy reach of the castlebank hotel....i am looking forward to a return trip there next year..if not before..oh and for the first time in ages i had an amazingly good nights sleep...that alone deserves 5stars in my book!!...

Room Tip: it really doesnt matter which room you book as they are all set out and as comfortable as each other...

went to Boo Hewerdine's two day songwriting workshop, along with 8 others and had the hotel all to ourselves. Breakfast, snack lunch and dinner were excellent. Henrique's photos framed in every room and lobby inspired several songs. A perfect place of creative inspiration.

This hotel is a Victorian building beautifully decorated with a large restaurant, bar, and sitting room. It's in a perfect location, just outside the town wall but within walking distance to all the sights. There is no elevator but nonetheless we had requested the Vardre room #5 on the second floor which was charming, very clean, and had a view of the castle, town wall and estuary. The bathroom was small and we had to pull a string to activate the electric hot water heater but the bath towels were extra large. The small sink was in a separate alcove. We enjoyed opening the window to let in the fresh breeze.

Breakfast was yogurt, fresh fruit, toast, cereals, and cooked-to-order eggs, mushrooms, tomato, sausage, black pudding and "bacon" which was much meatier, more like ham. Two of our 3 mornings we had to leave before the breakfast hour, and Henrique was kind enough to open the breakfast room early where all was available except the cooked choices. He also helped us with the computer since we did not bring our laptop.

We highly recommend this beautiful hotel where Henrique and Jo provide excellent service.
