My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3-day trip to Conwy--in large part because of the delightful Castlebank Hotel and its wonderfully personable proprietors, Henrique and Jo. Henrique even helped me negotiate train schedules back to London.
Our room was also delightful--small but quite comfortable. Only problem: the pounds I put on from the delicious "English" breakfasts!

The Castlebank is close to the town centre and the castle and is perfectly located for a visit to Conwy. Our room was comfortable without being palatial, and the ensuite bathroom was clean but not spacious. Could not fault the service and there was a generous selection of fresh fruit and cereals, as well as a full Welsh breakfast. There was ample parking provided.
I thought the tariff was a little expensive, but in summary would describe the Castlebank as a comfortable hotel in a great location.

This was our second stay at the Castlebank and it again exceeded expectations. This is a charming hotel in a dramatic setting and each room is unique. Between family members we have stayed in four of the rooms. The French Room (although it has twin beds) is tastefully decorated and is very warm and quiet, even if it lacks the views of the rooms at the front of the hotel.

Bathrooms in each room are small but functional with good showers. There is a very nice lounge/bar and a separate loung/reading room on the main floor, along with a spacious breakfast area where the food and service is excellent. The hotel is well-situated a short walking distance from the main streets of Conwy and the impressive castle. It also has a spacious parking lot. Sites such as Bodnant Gardens are only a few minutes away.

Overall, this excellent family-run hotel is an excellent choice in North Wales, and we would not hesitate to stay a third time.

We stayed here at the beginning of March, and have stayed in this hotel several times before. It has always been a most pleasureable experience. Jo and Henrique are perfect hosts. The food is delicious and always piping hot. Best cooked breakfast I've ever had!
The rooms are spotless and clean and you have everything you need in your room.
Would not hesitate to recommend to friends, as once you find a jewel like this you don't need to find anywhere else to stay in Conwy.
Hope to be back very soon!

After days filled with sight-seeing, we enjoyed outstanding meals in the hotel's restaurant. We enjoyed our after dinner conversations with our hosts and other guests over port and cheese even more.

We enjoyed our room with a view of the Conwy Castle. Great location just outside of the town walls.

We stayed at the Castlebank Hotel for 5 nights total, 2 at the beginning of our trip to Wales, then loved it so much we cancelled our plans for Cardiff and the surrounding area and returned to this "haven" or 3 more days...Owners Henrich and Jo Fino made us feel at home, and offered excellent travel tips (even lent us their travel maps for our short trip to southwest Wales). We stayed in rooms 3 and 5 (2nd floor, view of town and castle) which were beautifully furnished, well appointed, and comfortable. Breakfasts are delicious and dinner is as well (some of our best food in Wales). I would highly recommend the Castlebank hotel and the town of Conwy to anyone making a trip to Wales. We spent 2 nights at Castlebank Hotel and cannot rate the hotel highly enough. It is warm, comfortable, friendly, stylish, quirky and interesting. It is within a few yards of the town but very quiet, right next to the town walls with a stunning view. The owners are the very best kind of hotelier...they obviously love the job and take great efforts to make their guests feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble - they opened the restaurant just for us on Friday night and cooked and served a lovely meal. Our room was perfect...three windows with different views, decorated with style and flair but still cozy and comfortable, light and airy. This hotel has had much love and attention lavished on it and this shows in every room. Much thought has been given to the needs of the guests, and we didnt once think "if only they had..."! We would love to return and would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting north Wales. We wish the owners continuing success with their business and thank them for a really heartwarming stay.
