“Small and friendly”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Nice little coffee shop with friendly staff. The books on sale are mostly cook books and it is only a small selection, but the books on display give the shop a nice romantic atmosphere. Good coffee and tea and the brownie was lovely. The lunch menu has enough to choose from and the smell in the shop has a nice mouthwatering bacon sense during lunchtime. There's also a small patio at the back where you can sit outside. The mix of furniture gives it a homey feel.

“Good food”
Reviewed 18 May 2014 via mobile

We went here for lunch on a day trip. The goat's cheese salad was excellent - lots of goat's cheese and very tasty! A good selection of foods and the cakes looked lovely. Would love to go back and try the crab soup.

“Quick coffee and catch up”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

Stopped here for coffee on the way to Anglesey after driving over 200 miles to catch up with a friend.

Nice coffee - 4 cups for just over £8, so pretty reasonable for a coffee shop. Food looked nice (and good value) too, but we didn't have any. So lovely that it's not one of the endless chains that you get everywhere. Cute and quirky decoration - although definitely more coffee than books! Lovely little garden out the back to sit when it's nice and friendly, welcoming staff.

Only downside was having to go two doors up to pop to the loo.

Free parking outside (if you can get a space), but you can only stay an hour.

“Nice staff, good coffee but somewhat confused decor.”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

The staff quickly made my coffee and brought this and an ok slice of cake over. The cafe has had a lot of seating crammed in and this definitely detracts a little from the sense of space and calmness that I like to find in a cafe. However, it was pleasant.

I would have rated the cafe as a good but Trip Advisor forces one to either go up or down rather than say simply good...

No wifi but you can just get the Castle Hotel's wifi from next door. But this is very, very slow!
