For a little hole in the wall place we tripped over almost in passing, the food packed a delicious punch. I can't expand on variations on the menu, but the haddock and cod (we had both) and the chips were outstanding. The batter on the fish was thin and crispy and very tasty, just the way you want it. The fish tasted very fresh with a nice clean taste to it. The chips were hot and delicious.

Ambience-wise it was a little short on creature comforts (at least the room at street level where we ate was) and was very basic. They have an upstairs dining room we saw people go into, don't know what that was like. We were the only ones seated in front when we went in but the place was packed by the time we left. Our table top took several passes of cleaning to actually get it clean, but other than that, I can't complain.

Worth a stop if you're feeling hungry for fish and chips while visiting Conwy.

A group of 4 of us went to this chippy for a sit in meal on Sunday the 20th May. First of all we stood at the bottom of the stairs at the sign that states "Please wait to be shown to a table" and stood there for 10 minutes even though there was only one other table occupied; during which time we also heard a member of staff say "Why are those people standing there?" to another staff. We then asked a young man who was clearing tables if we could sit down and were told that we would have to wait for one of the girls to attend to us - the same ones who had deliberated over why we were standing there. After finally being sat down, we ordered 4 fish teas and were asked to pay up front - they must've known something we didn't. We waited 45 minutes for our food, enough time for us to discuss how slack the service was with a family sitting next to us who had been waiting an additional 15 minutes before we got there and still hadn't got their food either. When the food came it was nice enough, but the whole experience was ruined by staff who looked like they couldn't give a toss about their customers. No-one apologised for our wait and no-one thanked us for our service when we left and there were at least 5 members of staff. A sign in the restaurant reads "All of our fish is cooked fresh, so please be patient at our busy times". They had two tables to serve, so I'd hate to be in there at a busy time. I'm a local in Conwy and I went here once before for a carry out during the Conwy Food Festival and I was told that they had run out of chips! I like to support local business, but this is absolutely not how to run a business, especially when there is a rival fish and chip shop directly opposite them. My advice, give this place a miss - I will not be going back.

We visited on a nice day, so we decided to get chips to take away, although you can eat in. Food was reasonably priced and tasty, and the staff were friendly.

There was nothing spectacular about the fish and chips that we had here. Pretty average all round.
