This accomodation was booked for a 70th birthday weekend celebration. Although located conveniently in the centre of Conwy, gaining access is not obvious as it is positioned in a one-way street, and one of the car parks has a very narrow entrance and exit. A pleasant surprise was the complimentary bottle of chilled sparkling wine placed in our room for the birthday. The room was a little small although perfectly adequate. We ate in the hotel restaurant on one of the evenings and the menu and food were excellent in quality and value. Breakfast was also good. The lounge was extremely comfortable and relaxing. We felt that the accomodation was a little expensive, although it should be acknowledged that we did stay during the Easter weekend. Overall, we would consider staying again at the same hotel

Room Tip: Rear rooms away from street will be quieter

Many thanks for the review.
As an old coaching inn, the car park entrance was designed for a 'coach & six', no car sensors in sight!! Don't forget, we do have a car park in the front also.
Sorry you found the room a little small, they're all different in size and design and I think you must have had a Club room. Next time try Premium or Deluxe!
Really pleased you enjoyed the food. Our chef Andy and his team are working hard to offer the best in local Welsh - and retain their 2 AA Rosettes.
Please check website for off season and quieter time offers and packages. Look forward to seeing you again.

My Husband and I stayed 4 nights at this beautiful hotel. We were in one of the suites which had everything that you could require including a wonderful coffee machine and a huge jacuzzi bath!

The food was out of this world and we felt it was excellent value for money. There was a great choice of wines and beers on offer all served by friendly and professional staff!

The hotel has a great atmosphere and we are 100% sure we will be booking to go again!

I took my wife to the Castle for her birthday and booked Suit Caer Rhun, which comes with 2-person Jacuzzi bath, bottle of champagne on arrival, etc. The room exceeded expectations and the service was first rate. Evening meal in the restaurant was absolutely superb (and I also thought it was very good value). The hotel reaches the right balance between providing modern facilities, whilst still retaining the historical charm of the building. We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: I would definitely recommend one of the suites

I have stayed at the castle hotel on a number of occasions and have always experienced first rate service. The rooms I've stayed in have always been clean and tidy with comfortable beds. The food is always stunning with a nice variety of local food on the menu. I would highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I had business in Warwickshire but we could not resist travelling, again, to North Wales to stay at The Castle. We booked six nights and, again, just did not want to leave. There is a certain charm to this property. It has history, ambiance, friendliness and just the best food ever. The owners are available day and night and are truly dedicated to every detail. Our favorite room is a superior double which faces the high street. Yes, it can be noisy, but to us, this is part of being in the center of a town. If you are a light sleeper, opt for a rear facing room. The food is amazing. The seafood chowder is heavenly and the thin brooth is so much more appealing than the flour laden type. We were disappointed that the rack of lamb was off the menu, but, when we made the request to David, he had the kitchen offer it to us on two evenings. Do not miss the desserts, including the incredible ice cream. Conwy is just beautiful, a perfect small town. The hotel, under the shadow if its castle, fits in perfectly on its high street with unique shops surrounding it. Following our stay at The Castle, we checked into a five star property in Warwickshire. It was a lovely, immaculate property. However, it lacked owner operation and this was reflected in the staff and the sterile atmosphere. We are looking forward to another visit to The Castle.

Dear M&M!
Always a pleasure to see you in Conwy and thank you for again taking time out to review. We'll make sure the rack of lamb dish goes back on the menu when we change the dishes in a few months!
Look forward to seeing you again.

Very nice decor, mostly welcoming and pleasent staff apart from the gentleman who served us breakfast, he put the plates down and run off and negleted to tell us the plate were very hot.

He also served took our order for dinner, he had very little personality, the food was pretty good though.

This hotel is very noisy due to its location every morning we were there a delivery was made to spar about 50 yds up the road, the lorry arrived about 6.30 easter sunday morning, but a lie in till 7.00 on easter monday, if you want a relaxing stay do not stay here as you will be wokn up about 7.00am, the fire alarm might wake you up about 3.00am. all in all a very over priced stay.

Check-in staff v.good
check-out staff v.poor

Room Tip: parking is behind hotel, very tight to get in

Obviously our location was the major problem with your stay, which I can understand to a degree.
We quite clearly market ourselves as a town house hotel, in the middle of a 14th Century town, which is a World Heritage Site. Unfortunately, there is hustle and bustle which doesn't suit everybody. Most of our guests find us and the town charming.
However, I have asked Conwy Council to look into your comments re early deliveries to a store in the town. The town centre is mostly occupied by local residents and as such there is meant to be an 'embargo' on deliveries before 7.30am.
I'm afraid the fire alarm was activated by someone smoking in their bedroom, which our very sensitive new system alerted us to. My apologies for their inconsideration.
Not sure which member of our team without personality you are referring to, but I think it might be the same person who has received glowing tributes in other reviews! I guess 'different strokes for different folks' applies?
