Owner description: The Smallest House in Great Britain is a one up, one down cottage measuring just 72 inches across, 122 inches high and 120 inches deep and is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Built as an infill between two rows of cottages, it was lived in until May 1900 when it was condemned as being unfit for human habitation. The last tenant was a 6' 3" fisherman called Robert Jones. Quirkily, the owner at the time was another Robert Jones, who, in a bid to save the cottage toured the country with the editor of the local newspaper measuring every other small house to confirm that it was, indeed, the smallest house in the country. The Smallest House is still in the hands of Robert Jones' family

It is a small attraction, but if you are of a mind to discover the quirky, it is well worth a look. There is a history via recording and also much info from the Welsh costumed lady, there are a few bits and pieces to by as a reminder of your visit. On the quay side and only a short walk away from the lovely Conway Castle. I'm 6' 4" and had a little banter with the lady outside and I could really relate to how the guy lived there!

“Smallest house in Britain”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

The smallest house in Britian was aztually really small and what we've heard people used to live there (I wonder how). However you cannot get in just pass by and take a picture. It is so close to Conwy Castle (just a walking distance) that its worth to see it if in the area. We experience as well boat trip form that place really good fun. :)

“Brilliant visit”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

We were going to give this sight a miss after reading someone's review that it wasn't worth the money, but we decided that we'd give it a go anyway. it cost £3.50 for 5 of us to go in and it was worth every penny to see how a man of 6' 3" could live in such a small space for 15 years and we were even more surprised to discover that a couple had lived there before him. We spent as long as we wanted inside and was not rushed at all. We were able to go up the stairs into the bedroom and took pictures at our leisure.
