Great hospitality, lovely room, great Welsh breakfast and superb location in a fabulous medieval walled village. We received personal service and were made to feel right at home. If we're ever able to visit again, we would definitely stay with Colin & Monica.

We had a great but too brief stay at Gwynfryn B&B. We'll have to book a longer one on our next visit. The location couldn't be more central. Colin and Monica couldn't be more attentive to guests' needs.

We arrived in Conwy by train and found Gwynfryn a short and relatively easy (uphill) walk from the station. We were pleasantly met at the door by Colin our host. Being senior citizens, it was nice to have our host carry our baggage up the steep stairs to our second floor room. Our corner room in the front of the house was cozy, bright, and cheerful and our ensuit bath was comfortably modern. Colin and Monica provided the traditional full English breakfast, readily modified to suit our individual tastes, as well as special orders. Their lovely Victorian house is within the town walls and within walking distance of all the sights. We appreciated the chance to use their computer to access the internet, since we don't travel with a device of our own. If we're ever in Conwy again, this is where we'll stay!

Room Tip: Corner Room was bright and sunny with two windows. Noise from the street was not a problem. Choose...

Really enjoyed our time at Gwynfryn B&B. Great location in Conwy, very clean and comfortable, lovely breakfast and great coffee (which wasn't that easy to come by at the hotels and B&Bs we stayed at on this trip to the UK). Colin and Monica are wonderful hosts and very helpful. Highly recommend.

Gwynfryn B&B is located right in the heart of Conwy, easy walking to everything. The bedroom had everything (including fridge) that you would need, all sparkling clean. Colin as promised provided a parking spot and even parked our car in it for us as we were fried from left hand drive. Monica connected us with the skipper of a tall ship in Liverpool that we were able to board and tour which was an added bonus to a great stay. Breakfast was awesome too. Highly recommend.

Gwynfryn is located in the heart of Conwy, inside the medieval city walls. Understandably, the streets of Conwy are narrow and cobbled...totally quaint, but it was not the best place to try to park a car. Host Colin guided my husband into a tight parking spot right in front of the guest house and it was ours for the two days of our stay. Before we knew it, Colin hoisted our large, awkward and heavy rolling duffle bags up the two flights of stairs to the Rouge Room. We were immediately struck by the light-hearted décor of Gwynfryn, bordering on the edge of gawdy, but it's whimsy, color and sound (little hanging bells you cannot help but bump into while climbing the narrow stairs) soon won us over. So did the huge, red-black-and white bathroom with a claw-foot tub (which also allowed showering) and a dressing table and chair. The bedroom was crowded but well-appointed with a small fridge. We appreciated the tea and cocoa supplies and sweets provided daily, and the big selection of DVD movies for our use. Our bed was comfy and we had a beautiful view of the city roofs nearby and Mount Snowdownia in the distance.

We made breakfast selections the night before, and each morning enjoyed the delicious made-to-order dishes featuring eggs cooked various ways with a local, Welsh touch. My husband loved the Welsh breakfast with blood pudding, sausage, bacon, egg, tomato, mushroom, etc., and I had the richly-cheesy Welsh rarebit ("rabbit"). The meals stuck with us all day and we skipped lunch and instead had a late afternoon snack to hold us over till dinner.

The B&B was within a short walk of good restaurants and pubs. We walked the city walls one evening when the light was pretty, and visited the fascinating town castle, the Elizabethan house called Plas Mawr, and explored the waterfront. We also drove to incredibly scenic Snowdownia National Park and toured the National Slate Museum, Trefriw Woollen Mill and the castle at Caernarfon. We loved northern Wales and wish we could have stayed another day or two to explore more of the beautiful and interesting area. When we return, we can't think of a better place to stay than with Colin and Monica at Gwynfryn!

Room Tip: Conwy is quiet. Even though we had a room on the street, we were not disturbed by noise. Ear plugs w...

This was our first experience staying at a B&B and we couldn't have been more impressed. Gwynfryn is located in the heart of Conwy and within walking distance to all the sights. Our suite was very comfortable and super clean. Monica has a great sense of style and we enjoyed the whimsical theme of the house. Colin serves up a great Welsh breakfast and morning pot of tea. Should our travels return us to Conwy, Gwynfryn would be our first choice in accommodations.
