It's Thanksgiving morning here in the U.S. which means that, in addition to planning to enjoy a wonderful meal, we're reflecting on those things for which we are thankful. Our stay in Conwy at The Townhouse B and B comes quickly to mind.

We spent two nights at The Townhouse this summer. We arrived on June 25, our 35th wedding anniversary. We loved Conwy, our top floor room at The Townhouse, the delicious breakfasts, Conwy Castle, and the proprietors, Mark and Julie. They made us feel welcome, comfortable, and special. They made reservations for us at a lovely restaurant, walked us to a place where we could enjoy walking the castle wall, made great suggestions about places to visit, and even surprised us with a bouquet of flowers and an anniversary card in our room when we came back from dinner.

Our room was both clean and lovely. Mark insisted upon carrying our luggage himself though we had grown quite accustomed to doing it for ourselves throughout our trip. Since this was our first trip from the U.S., the electric shower was new to us, but Julie gave us a quick tutorial on how to use it. The view of the castle from the bedroom window was beautiful and from the bathroom window we could see a lovely church..

We especially enjoyed our morning and evening chats with Mark and Julie. We believe their friendly nature and sense of humor make them particularly suited to run a warm and welcoming bed and breakfast. They certainly made us feel welcome and made our stay in Conwy one of the highlights of our trip.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Of all the guests we have had during our first six months, you two are amongst our very favourites. It was a pleasure to have you stay with us, we enjoyed spending time with you and your enthusiasm for Conwy was great to see. Thanks for sending us some of the photographs you took, they are lovely and we hope that one day you will come back and see us and Conwy again.

What an amazing experience! From the very beginning Mark and Julie made us feel at home in their B&B. After checking into our rooms, which were clean, modern and had amenities such as wifi and cable television, me and my partner decided to go to a local Welsh Pub. We asked Mark where to go (this was about 2100 at night). He said he knew just the place, and walked us there! There were plenty of choices for breakfast, which they made fresh when you came down from your room. After spending a day out on the town, we came back to a clean room and fresh towels. Our purpose for staying at the B&B was to run the local half marathon. The marathon started at noon, which meant by the time we finished our room reservation would be over. Mark and Julie let us keep the key to come back and shower after we were done. This was by far better service than I have ever received at any hotel or B&B I have ever stayed in. The B&B is also located directly beside the castle and right down from the high street, which is a prime location. If you are coming to Conwy or local areas, this is the place to stay.

We have been visiting the Town House for over ten years but this was our first visit with mark and Julie in charge. Just as good as ever, warm, comfortable and friendly. My brother, over from New York on holiday was delighted with the place. Hope to return next teay.

Room Tip: a room with the view of the castle is very special

Despite not checking in until very late (11.30pm) we were given a warm welcome by Mark & Julie.

Off street parking for the van and the breakfast was delicious.

The best part about the stay was booking into a twin room then finding out that it's actually 2 separate rooms that share a bathroom, giving me and my colleague our own space. Bonus!

Great location in the centre of town next to the castle. Walking distance from the railway station too. Mark and Julie are very friendly and helpful hosts. The rooms are cosy and breakfast is excellent. Very good value for money.

Great location from the rail station and to town. Comfortable beds. New owners are friendly and very helpful. Our window overlooked the castle walls on both sides and was almost close enough to touch. Odd that breakfast is for one hour only which is a bit restrictive when you are on vacation BUT in all of our travels, the best breakfast we have ever had. Have the fruit and yogurt, it was absolutely amazing.
This is lovely medieval town. We found the waterfront which was lovely and peaceful. Watched them bring in the mussels. It must be an important industry because they have a statue of a mussel on the pier. Spen our second day in Llandudno. Took the hop on hop off bus, which you actually don't hop on or off anywhere but at each end, one in Conwy and one in Llandudno but the recording was very informative and interesting.
In Llandudno we took a gondola up the hill. The view was amazing and very peaceful. If the weather is good, you can't beat this for an afternoon. We sat on a bench and watched the sheep grazing and the sea below us. This alone made us love Wales. Then we went back down to the seaside where there is a magnificent sweeping walk and lots of benches to sit and enjoy the view.
Two nights are not enough here, you really need three to take it all in.

The Town House (B&B) Guest House is a 3 minute walk with luggage from the small train platform, 3 minutes from the Conwy Castle Entrance, 3 minutes from the dock, and right across the street from one of the wall entrances. We stayed in room #4, which gave us a great view of Conwy Castle.

Alan, Elaine and their dog Glen made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Glen took our luggage to our room and back down the stairs again when we left. The room was clean, quite and very comfortable, with free Wi-Fi. There is no room safe.

My breakfast consisted of eggs, toast, fruit, coffee, juice, sausage all served just the way I asked for it. My wife had the 'Elaine fruit sundae, see attached photo. We stayed here 2 nights and would definitely stay here again.

We took the train from Stafford Upon Avon to get here. You arrive on platform 2 from Chester and leave on platform 1 to go back to Chester. The station is 'not' manned so we had picked up our departure tickets in Birmingham. You can buy tickets on the train, which will cost you more. We bought all our 5 weeks of train tickets online while in Canada 6 weeks before we came to UK. Buying train tickets this way is much cheaper.

Conwy has lots of history to explore but we found a lot of enjoyment walking in and around Conwy. We walked 14 miles on our 2nd day here, walking through the town and out along the beach and golf course and all the way up 'Conwy Mtn' (more like a Canadian 'hill' back home).

Not a lot of places to eat supper here after 7:00, pubs even stopped serving food (do not undertstand why ?). We found a couple of Italian Restaurants around 'Lancaster Square' that were open and were very good.

Overall we had a GREAT time in Conwy. Thank you Alan, and Elaine.
