Nice room, very clean and a very good welcome by both the owners. We took our dog with us and she got a very warm welcome too. Plenty of hot water, nice breakfast cooked to order at the time of your choosing!
Good parking at the rear of the property,be careful when coming up the hill as the access to the car park is tight. No access to the hotel from the car park, however once you are in the hotel you can leave the hotel from the rear to bring cases etc into the hotel the door only opens one way. Good security if you think about it!
Didn't use the louge but it looks very comfortable!

Just wanted to write a quick review, mainly to say thanks for an amazing weekend. This is a great place to stay and I can't recommend it highly enough. Oweners are extremely friendly, and this makes everyone feel completely at ease. All the guests are friendly, enjoyed a good chin wag during breakfast both days.

No bad points about the place. Great room, very confy bed, nice powerful hot shower. Pefect base for our activity weekend.

Thanks once again

Just the one nights stay, the owners made me feel very welcome, the room was clean, comfy and quiet. the lounge area is cosy with a nice comfy sofa and a fabulous fireplace.

The property is only a few hundred metres from the town centre, it is located an a steep hill on a narrow road, so be careful as you drive up. Parking (ample) is just beyond the property on the left,

Breakfast Sunday morning was superb, served by the owner, a Liverpool FC fan, who was open to some friendly banter , especially as my beloved West Bromwich Albion had beaten his team 3-0 on Saturday :-)

Llangollen, is an amazing little town, with loads going on, go visit the town and stay at the Hillcrest you will not be disappointed.

Lots of places in Llangollen claim to be pet friendly but but after an impromptu phone around found this not to be the case. Hillcrest though, actually is. What a wonderful warm welcome we and our dog Barney got. He had free roam of the house and garden and it made this our second visit to beautiful Llangollen an absolute pleasure. The rooms were immaculate, the breakfast was delicious and our hosts were warm and friendly and felt absolutely genuine. What a gem of a find. We will definitely be back! Thankyou. Andrea, John and Barney.

Room Tip: If you have a dog, the back bedroom next to the fire door is very handy indeed. Keep the window clos...

Stayed in hillcrest at the weekend as part of a hen party, an excellent place to stay located a five minute walk from the centre of town, rooms were decorated lovely and were spotlessly clean and the beds are extremely confortable! A wonderful breakfast served cooked fresh to set you up for the day, we loved the array of welsh dragons and spiders dotted around. there's an honesty bar just off the breakfast room which is a great idea but there was no problem bringing your own drinks either, Dave and Trisha were great hosts all weekend and nothing was too much trouble I would highly reccommend a stay here if your visiting Llangollen!

We booked this for my hen do through an event company so didn't really know what to expect. have to say we were all pleasantly surprised, the decor is a little kitch downstairs but you know what it adds to the charm, all the rooms upstairs are very nicely decorated with a variety of twin, doubles, family rooms etc. Beds very comfortable and plenty of facilties in each rooms. My only negative comment is the water pressure is poor in the shower I barely managed to get a trickle out of mine I don't know if it was just the volume of people trying to shower at the same time but on both days I could barely wash due to the lack of water and perhaps too they could provide a hand towel in the bathroom (2 bath towels were provided). the big selling point of Hillcrest is the owners Dave & Trish, they were lovely!! Very warm welcoming people and made us feel at home in their house. We had been informed by our event company that we could bring our own booze for the hen but on arrival I don't think poor Trish had been informed of this and handled the situation very well. She let us empty their beer fridge and put our own in, now I M not encouraging this and certainly would contact the owners before doing this but they could have easily refused to let this happen and insist on us buying from their bar. they also allowed us to host an evening of games ( remember it was a hen do) in their front living room and we all had a lovely evening. the breakfast was decent too, plenty of juices, cereals and a full English too so can not complain and Trish will even do up a packed lunch on request. location wise it's not too far out from the centre of Llangollen only a short walk across the bridge really and you can do it comfortably in heels too!! there is parking at the rear of the house probably enough for about 6 cars and they have a small courtyard out the back too. the do have a cute little dog who was very friendly and never a bother tous infant you barely knew the dog was there.
Would definitely recommend Hillcrest and would have no hesitation in staying with Dave & Trish again.

Room Tip: the front double room has a beautiful big bay window and nice and light. there also is a lovely dou...

Glad you had a good weekend. Really sorry about the water pressure, we had a new one put in before the start of the season but it turned out not to be powerful enough and since then have upgraded the pump. The plumbing in this big old Victorian house can be a bit temperamental and the electrical storm didnt help with this pump before you came! Hopefully problem solved :)
