“Relaxed environment but attentive to guests needs”
Reviewed 12 November 2012

Just had a couple of day’s activity visit to the area with friends and colleagues and found this very clean and friendly hotel.
This is the first time I have felt the need to write a review and it is not so much to gush about it being the greatest hotel that I have ever been in but more the fact that on our visit the combination of creating a relaxing atmosphere but making sure you have everything you need in my opinion was spot on.
Was more than comfortable in having a meal in what is very much a traditional bar or the very spacious and well designed restaurant. I will gush at the breakfast being one of the best I had within a hotel.
All staff that I encountered were friendly, professional and very helpful.
Will make this first choice when ever I am in the area.

Room Tip: You pay your money you takes your choice. If you are willing to pay the extra the named rooms have b...

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review on White Waters Country Hotel.

It is excellent to hear that you appreciated the atmosphere created by all who work here and their professionalism. It is good to hear positive feedback on the restaurant and bar food and that you enjoyed both experiences.

my husband and i syayed overnight in september although let down on our pre:booked balcony room due to amix up we have been promised a free upgrade on our next visit.put this aside we had alovely stay , lovely river view from room.spa and pool facilities very relaxing.would recommend eating in the comfortable bar rather than the restaurant as we found it lacked atmosphere and there was more choice in the bar and very nice.all the staff were friendly and welcoming .will definitely return.

We stayed at this hotel for the Limosin Dinner and Dance, the room was OK, clean and comfortable but the food was a big let down. The starter of pate was very average tasted more like potted meat and had hardly any garnish. The main course was roast beef but the beef (sadly not limosin beef) had been sliced cold then warmed up in gravey except it wasn't very warm and the gravey was gloopy. We had to ask for more veg as there was so little which did arrive just as we were finishing the meal. The puddings were also very average, apple pie (made with pie filling from a tin by the look of it) with a tiny blob of squirty cream or vanilla cheesecake which was bland could have done with a bit more of the raspery sauce which was lovely.
Breakfast the next morning wasn't much better, I have never seen such a tiny sausage

Thank you for your customer review.
I am pleased that you found your room comfortable and clean but disappointed that you were let down by the food. Although the beef was not Limosin beef it is supplied by a local supplier as we like to use local produce, I would like to point out that this was the same beef used on your meal as last year which you were impressed by.
As for the apples I can assure you that the apple pies are made with fresh apples and not tinned once again that you gave good comments to last year.
Finally the breakfast served of bacon, sausage, egg, black pudding, hash browns, mushrooms, tomatoes and beans, the sausage used are a breakfast sausage again from a local supplier.
I can only apologise that you were not impressed this year as you were the previous year. I do hope that we have your continued support.

This weekend break was purchased via Groupon "what a gem this hotel was" the hotel was spotless, the staff were very helpful and freindly, Not only was one of our rooms upgraded FREE!. The rooms were very well maintained and of a high standard. One of the pleasures of staying here was not only the spectacular location sitting alongside the very tranquil River Dee and the fabulous valleys. The hotel also has a pet african grey parrot "ALFIE" what a delight and kept us very entertained with his colourful chatter. The hotel restraunt food was gorgeous and great value. The spa was well worth the jorney. We have plans to return to this fantastic hotel in the spring/summer to appreciate this peaceful river location in the sunshine.

We stopped over on a touring break, the staff were friendly, Hotel was clean and tidy, good value for money, we had booked as a last minute deal otherwise we would have been not so pleased if we had paid more for a back of the hotel room with the view we were given.
The decking area outside the dining area looked great but we were unable to use this due to the dreadful weather.
Disappointed as we booked this hotel specially to use the spa but found it out of use when we arrived.
Also a little amazed to see that the uneaten bread from the breakfast table was returned to the bread bag when we walked past the kitchen door.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view of the river

Many thanks for finding the time to leave this review on White Waters Country Hotel.

Unfortunately due to the popularity of our River View Rooms they do get booked very quickly which has a result in last minute booking having to be allocated to the 'non river view' rooms.

I must admit that we have had some maintenance issues within the hydrotherapy pool and steam room which did result in the pool being closed down for 2 days. I can assure you that making the decision to close the pool is not a decision made lightly. I would like to inform that the pool and steam room has now re-opened.

Regarding your comment about the uneaten bread being returned to the bread bag after breakfast service. I would like to point out that the unused bread does get put back into the bread bag but I can assure any customers that we do not use it, it gets collected twice a week to be fed to the ducks in Llangollen along the River Dee. We do also give it to children staying at the hotel who go into Llangollen so they can also feed them too.

Once again I would like to thank this customer for finding the time to review us.

Hopefully look forward to welcoming this customer back to White Waters Country Hotel in the future.

My boyfriend and I went to the White Waters Hotel for his Birthday. We paid a supplement for a river view, which was well worth it. We enjoyed ourselves. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The view was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and polite at all times. There is also a parrot there called Alf who was a real character and added to the stay.
The only draw back was the size of the bar area which was very small with little atmosphere. The food was ok but we preferred the meal we had in a pub in the town centre which was better value for money.

Room Tip: We had room 208 which was lovely.

I would like to thank this customer for finding the time to leave this review on our hotel.

I must agree with you that paying the supplement for the River View is well worth it as majority of our rooms benefit from the lovely views of the River Dee and Welsh Valleys.

Alfie is a great asset to the hotel which attracts a lot of customers to the hotel.

I’m disappointed to read your comment about the bar and food. Your comments have been passed over to the relevant department.

I do hope that you choose to stay with us again in the not so distant future.
