A visit is an absolute must for any trip to Anglesey. There is a modest charge to go over onto the island that the Lighthouse is actually on, but its well worth it for the climb up the Lighthouse itself and the helpful and knowledgeable staff. Even if you only walk along the cliffs, its well worth it. The Cafe at the RSPB centre serves delicious sandwiches, tea and cakes and has a little shop too.

The 400+ steps down to the lighthouse and then the steps up were well worth the views of the cliffs. You can even see dolphins. The lighthouse also contains some displays which are quite interesting.

On our recent visit to uk we decided to drive north to wales.
We were staying in high wycombe and it was quite easy to hire a car with our middle eastern drivers lisence. The drive up to the lighthouse itself is breathtaking. There is a climb down the cliff to the lighthouse and back up of more than a thousand steps. My husband carried our 1 and a half year old infact all the way.thanks to him i wouldnt survive even 10 stairs. Since babies cannot climb up the lighthouse there is a family room at the base. Its amazing how these tourist spots have been preserved and naitained by the lovals.
The view is breathtaking. enjoyed every bit of ghe climb and the weather was just qorgeous!!!

four hundred and somthing steps down to the lighthouse, but well worth the anticipated effort needed to go all the way back up again. A view to die for and a must on a trip to Anglesy

If you are energetic and like a challenge - just head for this lighthouse.
The views are smashing and if you get a fair day there is nothing like it. We had blue skies and not too much wind on the day of our visit and it was terrific backdrop for this rather magnificent structure. The seas were also tranquil and it was just lovely. Our kids are teenagers and this place was great for burning off some energy and getting the cobwebs out from behind the eyes and ears...it was great racing/chasing fun for them and a slow calorie burner for Ma and Pa. You will need good walking shoes - NOT open toed though. Take a waterproof (lightweight) and a bottle of water or some mints as you will need something to keep you going on the way back up. There is a steep downward path to the lighthouse and event steeper steps on the island but it is worth it and you will find the views are worth the huffing and puffing. The climb back seems daunting but we took it at a slow pace and felt like champions when we reached the cliff top again! The RSPB cafewhich is near by is excellent also and I thought they offered very good value for money.
