Owner description: In a spectacular location, overlooking the Irish Sea RSPB South Stack Cliffs is a heathland paradise just waiting to be explored. Wind your way along the dramatic trails and take in the expansive views across Anglesey to Snowdonia and across the Irish Sea to the Llyn peninsula. There are great views of the iconic South Stack Lighthouse from Ellin's Tower. The heathland and sea cliffs are home to all sorts of wildlife. In spring and summer, marvel at the spectacular wildflower carpet covering the clifftops and seek out the rare spathulate fleawort, which grows nowhere else on earth! Carefully and quietly explore the edges of the heather and you might see lizards or even an adder. Visit Ellin's Tower for great views of the seabird city in spring and its puffins, guillemots and razorbills. Try to spot porpoise, dolphins and seals out to sea. Then you can browse in our shop, relax in the visitor centre and enjoy fresh food in our café. We welcome dogs on the reserve. They are allowed in Ellin's Tower, the shop and the entrance to the Visitor Centre but not in the café. Between July and November our flock of hebridean sheep will be grazing on Holyhead Mountain, please ensure dogs are kept under control around livestock. The Visitor Centre is open all year round except Christmas Day 10am - 5pm. Ellin's Tower is open from Easter to the end of September.

I can only comment on the main rspb building as the weather wasn't playing ball when we visited the reserve. Free car park (with more nearby) giving access to the centre, lots of walking routes, Holy Island and lighthouse and a dedicated bird watching tower. The main building has a small gift shop, very helpful rspb staff and a good cafe with lots of seating, which is handy when the weather's poor.

We really enjoyed our visit to South Stack on Anglesey. We saw hundreds of guillemots - and our first sighting of puffins! It is an amazing spectacle, watching the birds dive into the water, and the puffins bobbing about. I can't wait to visit again. I couldn't believe it was free entry and free parking. All the RSPB staff are very friendly and helpful, the cafe is really good and I spent loads in the gift shop - wonderful!

I love this place in the spring and early summer when seabirds fill the cliffs and flowers colour the landscape. Plenty of walks to work off the cake or scones from the cafe!

we had no idea that puffins could be so noisy. Magical to see and hear their colony. This is a beautiful area of coast and definitely worth visiting
